Default Rotor Rust

Hi, all!

I just got new rear brakes/rotors on my 15 Jaguar F-Type

R. I've driven it quite a bit since, but the rust on the rear driver side rotor is simply not coming off.

Any idea what the reason behind this could be? I'll be taking it back to my mechanic to have him look at it.

Thank you!

What have you done to try to remove the rust?
In the past I have successfully used steel wool and brake clean, have you tried this or something like it?
Also the coloration in your pic looks awfully like gold paint rather than rust to me, or maybe that's just an optical illusion?

I'm with OzXFR - the color and texture don't look like rust.
