Good day all!

Our new to us 2014 F type has begun flashing up a service required message upon startup. It does not offer any further information that I can disseminate.

Does this simply mean oil service required? I reviewed the owners manual, they just direct you to the dealership.

I am am accustomed to our BMW’s which offer up information regarding all service intervals (oil, brake and fluid, cabin filter, etc).

 

You don't mention mileage...but the Owner's manual lists a Service Schedule (in Years or Mileage).

Yes, that means it thinks you're past the recommended mileage interval (16K miles) or time interval (12 months) since the previous service. I'd see what you have available for service records, to see if it's due.

 

Thanks- 2014 F type with 26k. I believe the in service date was in May of 14.

My local dealer stated the 30k service had been done last fall by the prior owner.

Apparently it is indicating that you are due for your May 2019 service.
