Should I buy?
Could you provide some specifics to quantify that statement?
I have owned 5 x Porsche 911's (Generally considered to be the gold standard for high quality build standards on a sports car) as well as BMW's etc, and I find the build and quality of the F Type to be of a very good standard.

Well, its just that you are making blanket statements like "these cars are built awfully with many issues" and "Jaguar customer service is terrible" while on the flip side I and many others have not experienced either the quality issues you are portraying, nor the poor customer service either. The issue with loss of exhaust noise was handled very well by Jaguar as was the recent muffler and interior trim replacement under warranty.
So - I believe its a case of some cars seem to have more issues than others and some interactions with Jaguar and or their dealers is worse than others experience. Which is pretty much the same story for every car and manufacturer out there. Some people are very happy, some people have bad experiences.
I don't believe its right to make blanket sweeping statements in the manner that you have portraying the car and service offered by the manufacturer as awful across the board.
And I have no particular allegiances to cars or brands - I have owned some not so great ones and am happy to say when I have a bad experience or the car didn't live up to my expectations, as has happened in the past.

Lastly, I don’t see how calling the car “great” is any less a blanket statement than calling it ****.
Ek, are you projecting on the car? You’re alway the first one to question any single negative anyone posts about these cars. It’s not an attack on you because you have the car too.....
The panel alignment is absolute ****, it’s seriously very bad. The car rattles and creakes to no end. And the software is very buggy. My car goes in and out of auto stop start mode randomly, and the active exhaust has many known issues.
For or this kind of money, these issues should not exist.
dont get me wrong, there are still things I love about the car. But there is a lot of negative too I think that need to be considered.

I too would question your build quality statement; I've had zero issues with my 2014 V8S and the build quality is as good as any other vehicle I've owned....in fact I've had a couple issues already with our brand new Mercedes C43 AMG that I'm not very happy about.
My car's fit, finish and panel fitment is all good.

Ritzy, I imagine you are using Jaguar Marin as your dealer? My prior 2 Jaguars were serviced there, in the 2000 - 2014 years, with excellent service in my opinion. My opinion is based on 40 years of Jaguar ownership.
Jag marin is equidistant from my now-preferred Dealer, Cole European in the Creek. They've done a fine job with my 2007 XJR, and now nearly fine with the F type. A minor complaint was the fact that at my first service, scheduled 10 days ahead, they did not have a needed O-2 sensor that was on my service request, so I had to return a week later. Not all bad cause I love driving the R, and they give me a loaner for errands whilst the repairs are being done.
An alternative plan, Ritzy, is to use British European in Cotati. They're not fully authorized for warranty work on the F, however that's where my XJR gets serviced for routine stuff. Mark and James are very experienced in British autos. Mention my name.
For what it's worth, I've had NONE of the vehicle-specific items you mention in my 6k miles of ownership of the F = very best Jaguar ever!

Don't buy. I mean, if you're going to buy a very expensive car, buy an F-Type. It's as fun a driving experience as just about anything out there and mine has been virtually problem-free.
On the other hand, material possessions (including cars) don't buy happiness. After a couple years you'll come to see it as just another car if you drive it too often. I recommend taking the money and either donating it to charity, buying vacations, or investing in high risk things like cryptocurrency.

Buy it. The car is a blast and it's well made. You can see panel fitment when you buy it so if that for some reason is a concern just look at it and decide. My 2016 F Type runs great - no real problems at all (just needed one software update - stereo ) and the local dealer / service department has been very good as respects inquiries and routine software updates.

Ritzy: Blanket statements of "opinion" as if they are "facts" elicits the kinds of responses you got above, and makes it less likely your opinions are taken seriously. Comes across as angry, not at all objective. Just my 2 cents... just my opinion...
I do not doubt that your experience with these cars has been bad. Clearly it has been. And you have every right to not like them. Others are speaking of "experience", making it clear that they are expressing an opinion.
If someone popped in here and said "Jaguars are the best cars with the best service", that statement too would clearly be ... taken with a grain of salt, brought into question and scrutiny, as it should be.

I'm on my 4th and 5th Jag now, they have been extremely reliable save for teething issues with an '08 XF that was essentially the first of the run and suffered for it. That said, I kept it for over 4 years and the last 3 or so were trouble free.
The F Type (owned 20 months) has been flawless, the XE (owned 2 years, also first year model) has had no problems at all save for some "campaigns" for the infotainment.

WHAT?!?! In my own town? Oh, its in that fuzzy part of town and I don’t know when Cotati becomes Rohnert Park. Thanks for the info. I will use them for oil changes and the sort.
