Default Side effect of rear spoiler

On the one hand, the rear spoiler cuts visibility in half .. on the other, stops the headlights of moronic tailgaters from blinding you. Result

Default Spoiler better than a radar run?

I'm also wondering if it will be an easy way for cops to know you're speeding in a 45 MPH zone...

Not necessarily, you can raise it electrically and drive around with it up all the time.

The spoiler comes up at 60 but does not drop until 40. So even if driving in a 45 mile zone, the spoiler could be up at 45! Smooth way of hiding.

The Coupe's spoiler raises at 70mph & lowers at 50mph. It can't be manually controlled (unless parked with the parking brake engaged) & that is for cleaning purposes, so it won't allow you to drive around with it up.

Not sure the cops are riding around looking for rear spoilers that are engaged in the up position and calculating that the person in question must have gone over 60 mph at some point recently, but not under 40 to drop it.

I'd guess they're clueless to how each different make of vehicle functions. Besides, some drivers, why I don't know, actually engage their spoilers up all the time manually.

Dremorg,

I have no problem manually raising or lowering my rear spoiler while driving down the road.

Because you have a convertible. The button is disabled on the coupe and only works when parked.

That interesting that they would be different. Wonder why?

I suspect due to aerodynamic differences. The wing raises and lowers at different speeds on the coupe vs. the convertible, possibly due to the size difference of the wing itself.
