Has anyone who bedded down their F-Type awoken it from its long winter's nap yet? I'm in the North East and mine is still under cover and on the battery tender. We've had a terrible sub-freezing winter and the folks in New England have added to that many feet of snow.

I've been patiently awaiting Spring thaw, but now the roads are so shi**y with pot-holes so big that you can set up house in some of them, I may leave it a while longer.

Anyone?

 

I wouldn't mind trading this crazy Southern California heat we've had the last few days. 100 on Saturday and 94 on Sunday.

 

yeah, right. When you go out to your car in the AM,(I keep my daily driver, an Armada, outside), and the outside temperature gauge on the dash reads 0F (yes ZERO), you'll not envy us! LOL

 

I'm guessing I'll get mine out of storage the first week of April. You're not kidding about potholes!

 

Zero in Philly? That is so two weeks ago . . . LOL.

Yes, it was a very cold, snowy/icy February in DC as well, and mine hibernated most of that month. I've got it back out again with daytime temps in the 50's, but I am autocrossing around potholes.

 

Yep, but that's auto-crossing with a real $ penalty involved. I've already gone through one tire replacement within for my first month - I'd like to keep these a matching set.

A friend just last night blew out a tire on his Audi S4, then 30 minutes later, blew out the donut - some back luck.

I'll keep under wraps I think until first weekend in April when I'm back from spring skiing and have officially put winter out of my head too.

 

I purchased tire and wheel coverage for that very reason.

 

It will likely be early April before I take mine out.. we still have lots of snow, and now mud / gravel when it gets above freezing.

Until the street sweepers do their thing and get rid of the sand and rocks they use as abrasive. My cars stay put in the garage....thats Mid May.

 

We are fortunate that they don't use gravel or sand in this climate, just mega-tons of salt. However, we've had a couple of heavy rains in the last week or so that have washed that away, so we're able to go play pot-hole dodge.

 

I'm in Philly and the potholes are appalling, I did get it out of the garage to dust it off but couldn't bring myself to risk the terrible roads. Tomorrow has a high of 61 and a low of 28!!!

 

I'm in the greater Detroit area. It was in the lows 60's today, most of the snow is melted and I was so tempted to peel back the cover and go for a spin. However, like so many others mentioned there are more craters on the roads than the entire surface of the moon, some large enough to swallow a small child.

I'm also thinking it will probably be another couple weeks before I can get out and enjoy it... It's been a long winter!

 

Driving all year on nice and dry days. Obviously hardly at all the last two months.

 

I don't know how all you badlanders stand it, I have been travelling for two weeks and I'm already desperately missing driving my F.

 

Trubrit / Tiger where in Philly are guys at? My F should be here at the end of the month! Once the weather gets better we should meet up.

 

You get used to it... You don't like it, but you get used to it..

In my area, it started to warm up very rapidly and we've had about a week or so of above average temperatures for this time of year. Since I received the car during the winter, it's been a great surprise to have nice weather this early. Although knowing the Midwest, we'll get a snow storm in about a week or so just for good measure...

 

I am waiting for it to rain a few times so that it washes away some of the salt. Our potholes are not that bad and the city has started filling them in. Probably will wait till the second week of April.

 

I've had mine out on nice days over the last few weeks. Nice feeling pressing the button and hearing the awesome startup sound again.

ShaunPA, we are both in Bucks County, we should definitely get together when they fill some of these potholes!

 

Here in Buffalo we have been buried under two or three feet of snow, with snow piles twice that height at every intersection. And I just bought my brand-new, first-ever Jag three weeks ago, brought it STRAIGHT home to the garage.

But the last week or so the temperatures have been above freezing, the mounds of snow are shrinking away and the roads are surprisingly clear and dry. We even had a few days when we saw that thing up in the sky -- what's it called -- oh, yeah , the SUN. So I could not help myself, had to take the Cat out for a couple of little runs. (Licked the salt off of it with my tongue afterwards.) Of course I had to slalom around the potholes, but so far they have not been too bad - at least by Buffalo standards.

I still do have my winter car out as well, my usual switchover is about April 1st. But KEEP THE FAITH, fellow badlanders, I really think we will actually have spring soon.
