Default SOS Limited Funtionality

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I just took delivery of my 2018 F Type three weeks ago. I have lusted after this car since it first debuted but I wasn't ready to sell my BMW Z4. I still wasn't ready this year so I decided to get the F Type and keep my Z4. I love the F Type!

Anyway, when I first got the car, I had the message SOS Limited Funcitonality. I notified the dealer and was told that until the encore presentation person set everything up in my car, it would remain as a message on my dash. Well. I had the guy from the dealership set everything up and it is still there. I have now been told that I have to drive the car a few more days for it to disappear. Does this sound right? It doesn't to me.

I bought the car in Florida and had it delvered to Rhode Island. Does anyone know what this SOS message means? Should I bring it in to my local Jaguar Dealership?

Same thing happened to me with my '17 R. It was sporadic, and went away after a few weeks. I haven't seen it again. I think there are some threads about the antenna being an issue, but it never got that far in my case.

If the issue doesn't resolve itself, it could be the telematics module.

Thank you OP, there are days I feel sorry for myself that I have a very early F with less than lunar landing technology, than someone like yourself will post and I will feel better. I told my sales guy to get ready for a new one in the Fall. I sense Jag is closing the tech gap although not completely just yet.

(To those who have graciously listened to my tech complaints, I read a comparison of the XF Sportbrake and a Volvo V 90 a couple of days ago. Oi vey)

Had the same happen last year, shortly after I got my '17 AWD S. They replaced the antenna, and all was fine. Started sporadically happening again (11 months later). Will be bringing it soon for other minor issues, and will report back on what they find.

I confess that the entertainment and navigation systems in the 2014 MY are fine with me. My enjoyment comes from the drive and the styling. That's just my personal view, and to each, his own.

Meanwhile, however, I'd have to say that JLR still has quite a way to go to close the tech gap. While the ICTP system our F-Pace has a beautiful screen, the system performance is severely challenged. Aside from the screen, and convenience of easy map updates, it's about on par with my former 2007 Acura TL-S.

You might want to check out some of the discussion in the F-Pace forum which has a perpetual dialogue on the shortcomings of the ICTP system...
