Default Depends on preference

Deciding between Spotify and Pandora depends on your preferences. Spotify offers a vast music library and personalized playlists, while Pandora's strength lies in its music discovery features. If you're considering a switch, use MusConv to effortlessly transfer your music and playlists, ensuring a smooth transition.

Spotify (paid) now streams without compression, i.e., lossless, so you should be hearing CD-quality sound except for when you must use Bluetooth (which uses compression). I guess that means I'm not hearing lossless in my 2020 F-Type because Bluetooth is necessary even though I must also connect my phone using USB. (Even so, lossless Spotify yields the best sound while driving, versus Sirius/XM or FM radio or even CDs ripped losslessly to a USB thumb drive. I use "Stereo" setting in-car, vs. the Meridian, DTS, or Dolby settings, which presumably compress the signal for their EQs.)

At home, though, through a good AVR and good speakers, lossless Spotify is noticeably higher-fi than before. Also with wired earphones/buds (but not wireless buds). My only annoyance (though small) is because I use the Spotify app on a smart TV that connects to my AVR via optical cable; so, to take advantage of its lossless stream, I must switch the TV's "auto" audio setting (for passing through compressed 5.1 surround sound) to uncompressed "PCM" stereo, and then switch back to "auto" for movies and TV in Dolby 5.1.

Plus, they kept deleting the few channels I listened to.
I tried a comparison of JLR's onboard Sirius/XM versus my Bluetooth-connected phone's Sirius/XM app: Noticeably higher-fi through the phone, and no dropped signal while driving through an underpass.

But if I'm gonna use the phone while driving, I get the best sound from (now lossless) Spotify.

Neither Spotify nor Pandora for me. I use Apple Music, it has the best sound quality of out of the three with High quality lossless audio available and Dolby Atmos. I pay $4.99/month with my student subscription. No ads ever is also a plus.
