There are two, early and later 18-20

have one. Takes all of 5 minutes to install. Getting the factory screw out is a fiddle. My kid used a small vice grip pliers to do it.

Send an email to Big Mike and he’ll set you up with the right mount if the Euro version is different. I personally just mounted a Euro plate frame on the US version of the Sto n sho.

Unhingd would the plate at the bottom not restrict air to the oil cooler where you have it, you have to issues it seems

That little slot above the splitter does not create a discreet air channel. It joins all the air going in through the grille immediately past the surround. Certainly would not be an issue for driving on the street. The whole plate and bracket would be removed with the tug of a ring if taken to the track.

Hi Tim,

Just spoke with Big Mike. He's custom-made a number of plate holders for me when I picked up a first-year production vehicle (BMW X3 M-Sport, Audi RS5). Mike and his staff have always been very responsive.

He said to go ahead and order the SNS part number that fits your F-Type model and year. (There are two SNS possibilities, as Tomkatb correctly points out.) Then just add in the notes section of your order that you want the Euro plate, and they'll take it from there as Unhingd alludes. They have already developed the Euro front plate, and they will adapt it to the particular bracket you order. Good luck.

Sooo... After five years I finally got nabbed for not having a regulation state issued plate on the front of the car. Came away with just a warning because I at least tried to have something that could be used to identify me. With the warning on file, I won’t be so lucky next time.I guess I need to acquiesce and put the right tag on unless I wanna pay the $70 fine next time.

Oops. Busted, because of the stupidest state requirement on the books. Sorry Lance I love your euro-plate and wish I could have one as my rear plate. I know there is a long standing set of reasons that many states have front plates but given today’s technology for identification it’s more useless a rule than ever. So glad I live in a state that doesn’t require them.

Now I can’t find the front plate. I’ll have to buy a $20 replacement.

If you didn't bother to buy another front plate, it would be like saving $20 on your next ticket, wouldn't it? LOL

Not such a silly thought. Only reason I’m putting an authentic plate on Is that the spousal unit was in the car at the time of incident. For a $70 fine, I wouldn’t worry about it. Spousal recriminations on the other hand...

My ex was like that - although I earned it, I couldn't spend it how I liked .... She, on the other hand, could (and did) waste it like crazy.

In my case, my wife just resents my willful disregard of the law. She’s convinced that if it weren’t for her I’d be a hardened criminal by now. In fact, she counseled the LEO to haul me off to jail. Damn, I love that woman.

Default Front plate dilemma

After 3 years of being a scofflaw and not having a front plate on my '14 V8S, I finally broke down and got the Sto-N-Sho. Well engineered and installed in about 5 minutes. My dilemma? A little bit of the thrill is gone.

Is there a better brand of these types of plate holder I should look at? Is the install fairly easy with no mods to the car?

Thanks

Sto-N-Sho is the way to go. Uses an existing treaded hole so no drilling. The plate is centrally placed and in a low, less objectionable location, Try using JAGFORUM as discount code.

Now a guy might wonder if the ever vigilant constable would have even noticed if you had no plate VS spotting a non govt issue plate.
