Default The Strangest Wrap

I thought Jags were British? The flowing red actually looks pretty cool.

It looks neat, but just seems wrong.

Would I have it in my driveway... no. But I do kinda like it. I wonder what Clarkson would have to say about this. Most likely his views would make me like it even more.

No, they are more German (54%) than British (40%).

. . . and even the British content is debatable, as it includes the Ford-designed engines. However, they are built in the UK.

Ahhh the international assembly of automobiles these days. Your car is not really where you think it's from!

Hmmm....I'd like to know what that 54% German is made up of. OK, I know the gearbox is ZF, but what else ? The bodyshells are all pressed and stitched together in the UK (rivets and glue like the XJ saloons), the engines are built in the UK somewhere. Jaguar Land Rover is owned by TATA now, not Ford.

Yes, but the fact that JLR is now owned by Tata doesn't negate the fact that the current F-Type engines were developed by Ford when it owned JLR. Those basic V6 and V8 designs have been utilized in Jaguars for many years now.

+1. And those engines are now built to Jag specs in a Ford engine plant in the UK. (That plant was not sold to Tata).

The diff is ZF, and most of the engine accessories are Bosch, Continental AG (Ate) does the brakes. It's adding up fast. I think Bosch does the steering.

Saw this wrap in Sonoma. With the checkered grid it almost looks like a video game.

I like that red white and blue (the United, not the Union)

Agreed, but the white stars on blue field hide the interesting details on the front end. Both of these wraps really hide the lines of the car, at least in the pictures.
