Default SVO Paint Build times

Hi all,

Was looking into V8R, Madagascar Orange, and dealer said it takes like a year for those svo colored cars to deliver. Just wondering if anyone had experience on a build time wait for those? Or has heard information regarding them. Was hoping if it's an R, it takes less time to deliver versus an SVR.

SVO paint palate no longer available in North America. Not sure of your location. Still available in UK.

Well, that (SVO Paints) experiment sure didn't last long. What maybe one year at most? I wonder how many takers they had for the $8,500 matte jobs. I expect you could count them on your fingers. Still, it added a little cachet to the brand and after all "Porsche does it."

I persist in thinking a lot of options and a quick functioning order system is the way to sell premium niche cars like the F.

Yes, I’m in United States. The dealer said even though it’s not on the US build website he can definitely select it as a build option in their system. Are we sure it’s a no go? During my last build I’ve definitely learned that they aren’t always informed on the latest, so it wouldn’t be a surprise. I will call him again. And maybe another dealer to check also.

Default Special Ordered BRG SVR

I special ordered a MY 2018 F-Type SVR in British Racing Green with a few other custom bits. It took almost two years just to order it because the dealers were no help at all! They said, "if it's not in the catalog you can't order it". Out of frustration, I reached out to the Special Vehicle Operations group directly and wa-la problem solved. Just be prepared to spend big dollars to get it done. After the custom order was placed it was only 5 months to delivery...

Let us know what you find out. Don't pick matte if you can order SVO paint. Can't be saved if you get a scratch.

I'll ask my dealer too. That said, I don't think there were any SVO color options that were worth the price. I'd sooner just have it wrapped.

The SVO colors are very rare. Here is one.

Vika, Thank you. That is one impressive vehicle and one impressive paint job. I don't care for the SVR Wing, and the seat embroidery is a bit much, but otherwise, an eminently desirable vehicle. If only JLR could get its act together, the product is absolutely superb and should sell like gang busters with the proper support system. The JLR infrastructure seems to be the weak point in the program. The product sure is outstanding.

Yeah, I got a regular color and it took 1 year to get the car. I would have been scared to have ordered a Matte SVO Paint color.

Range Rover also has available special colors and even two tone paint jobs.

If it's that painful to order one, now I know why they are so rare.
