Default SVR top speed claim reduced

I noticed in the north america configurator tonight that the SVR no longer claims a top speed of 200mph. It's now 195, and limited to 186 with the "R" version of the spoiler.

Not that it really matters; and not that I would ever see any of those speeds. But I found it interesting because the 200mph club is kind of like 500 home runs, etc.

For motorcycles it was 300 kph (186mph). There was a lot of speculation that the manufacturers were limiting to below that to avoid legislation prohibiting it.

The fastest I've ever seen on the speedometer was 255kph, but it was still pulling like a freight train in a corner and I stopped looking. There was a hairpin coming up, and I thought my attention best directed elsewhere. It wasn't my bike; otherwise I'd have taped over the speedo. That's not something you need to know, bragging rights aside.

I've hit 311Kmh in my F-Type R Coupe which is 193mph. I doubt its an official change. More like marketing changing its stance since I'm sure its not all conditions and cars that can hit 200...

SVR coupe is listed as 200mph top speed
except when has deployable rear spolier when it's 186mph top speed.

SVR convertible is listed as 195mph top speed.

Although as mentioned the opportunity to legally achieve these speeds is limited.

Have managed an indicated 170mph where legally permitted in my Type R coupe

Ah. So it may be that they are using the descriptive text for the convertible on the configurator even when you're building a coupe.
