SVR's Not Selling?
Are the F Type SVR's not selling well? I was looking at a fully loaded SVR (cc brakes, carbon fiber inside/out) in August of 2016 when it initially came in priced over $140,000. I look over a year later (today) on that dealers website out of curiosity to see if it sold. Still at the dealership and price dropped down to $106,000!!! It's brand new with 13 miles on it. I offered the dealer $130,000 when it arrived at their dealership last year but they wanted full MSRP. So I bought a GLE AMG 63s coupe and I am super happy with it. SO WHY ARE THEY NOT SELLING???
Btw, at the same dealership they have a 2017 F type R for $104 with cc brakes dropped from $122!
WTF is going on?????????????

SVR is definitely in my future. I agree an R, in every practical examination, is pretty much as nice.
When depreciation hits 50% after 2-3 years I am there. Like my R. $107k new, $62k used (close to 50% anyway).
$106k for a new SVR is NICE though!

Sales for F-TYPEs in general have slowed. Jaguar just offered a bunch of incentive cash on ALL F-TYPEs.

Most are discounting the higher end Rs & SVRs for at LEAST 20% off MSRP. There is a $5K incentive from Jaguar & they DOUBLE that to $10K once that particular dealership has hit specific targets. Needless to say, NONE such discounts were available until recently. However, logic dictates that all these '17s are now considered "ONE YEAR OLD" cars once they roll off the lot so a large chunk of the discounts are necessary to move these vehicles.
New 2017 R's can be had for $90K (Yes, coupe or convertible) but they may not have all the options you may want. I almost closed on a Red R vert UNDER $90K but it did not have the vision package so no backup or blind spot sensors so it became a no-go for us. I am still open to a new vehicle but we have started looking at used so that we can just pay cash rather than leasing.
New 2017 SVRs can be had between $102K & $109K with similar caveats as the Rs above. The SVR's have a nicer alcantra interior trim as well as the diamond stitched seating and the spoiler but in many ways the R's are basically equal as they have the same engine and can be tuned the same so there is no performance difference

Somebody jump on this Firesand SVR for under $100k!!!

$889.08 base monthly 33/10 and I'm sure you could squeeze even some more money from them, lowering your monthly even further!
Although my '17 R deal is ridiculously good, maybe I should have waited--would have loved an SVR

To go back to the original question, what does selling well mean. The F-Type is a niche vehicle and with each move up the latter the niche gets smaller. My impression from watching the inventory is that the SVRs sell well just not very fast.
Imperial does not have the reputation of being an aggressive dealer.
Since we we are dealing in a niche, there are bargains to be had with a little effort and control.

I love the quilted interior of the SVR, but i'd happily take a British racing green R with Carbon ceramics over one.
I parked next to an SVR last weekend, and I think I actually preferred the look of mine. Not a fan of the wheels that come with the SVR CC pack either.

That is simply not true...the SVR is much MORE refined than the R in every way. I had a 2015 R and now have a 2017 SVR. So much more different than I would have thought.
There's a recent leasehackr post of an SVR lease, around 130k sticker, something like 26% off MSRP. Ended up leasing it for 748 a month. You could get a real steal lease on that firesand one posted as well.
If I wanted refinement I'd drive a Porsche.
I'm so glad you mentioned that. They look like a mattress to me. I don't understand why they are all the rage with high end trims. However, I sat in a SVR and they are quite comfy.
I like the interior of the svr. It doesn't feel that special tbh, but its good. The steering wheel feels better and sportier, even if it doesn't look it. The quilted leather doesn't fit with the rest of the interior imo, but it's not that out of place, and it looks nice. Like a blanket 😉
The exterior is a bit of a conundrum. I like the wing, but I do agree the car has better lines without it. I don't like the side vents, but the hood vents are cool in carbon fiber.
