Thanks UPS! No VAP for me
So my new to me VAP exhaust that I bought off a forum member has gone missing. As soon as I noticed that there were no scans for it leaving the shipping center, I called UPS and they said to just wait for the projected arrival date. The date has come and gone and now I have to go through the 8 business day claim process.
I had the day all set on Sunday to install the thing and now I'm just left gut-punched. My biggest frustration as I called UPS three different times stating that I really should be seeing scans and they just kept slow walking me.

I had a similar situation a while back except my part did show up on schedule. I wasn’t seeing any tracking related to the item. It looked online like it was sitting in one location. I kept calling them and they kept assuring me it would arrive on the estimated arrival date. It did! The tracking was never updated.
I once had a package (Phase Linear 4000 for fans of antique electronics) shipped UPS from Seattle that I could track by truck to Chicago, then watch it spend the day getting rerouted back to Seattle, then back to Chicago, etc for four round trips over several weeks. UPS could never intercept the box unless it was in a distribution center, and couldn't grab it before loading it onto the next returning truck. A month later, they finally got it all the way to NC - much the worse for its travels. Nothing on the package indicated an address problem. Tracking numbers may exude confidence, but they don't really equal to control.
