I've been trying to do my research before posting, but I can't seem to find an answer to this.

I've got a 2015 F-Type. It's running the exact same system as shown in this post:

only my version says 5636.

It asks for a USB drive for updates, just like in the post above.

According to Cambo's comment in:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...system-191629/
this means I'm running "the IAM2.1 system".

Are there any updates for it available beyond 5636? Everything on Jaguar's site talks about updating newer systems via Wifi, or wants to sell me a map update.

My end goal is to get something "better" running on this like Apple CarPlay.... but I'm betting that will only happen with a "rip out and replace" upgrade.... if anyone sells one.

 

5636 is the latest update for your hardware. There have been one or two attempts to install aftermarket hardware upgrades (to 10" screen with carplay capability) but those attempts met with little success. A search will reveal that thread.

 

Could you please update this thread for 2022 - is there a software update available for a 2016 F-Type for IAM2.1 system beyond 5636 version?

 

That's the version on my system, but to be honest, I had to connect to CarPlay for the first time to find that out.

 

I believe you are more lucky then I am as you actually don’t have IAM2.1 system. IAM2.1 is too old to allow for jaguar factory carplay. Therefore I had to buy UAD software for 515 pounds to have carplay functionality. I am looking for someone who tried to update IAM2.1 system and knows whether 5636 version is the last one or newer version was released later on. Thank you

 

According to Cambo's information in another thread I do actually have the IAM2.1 system:

Map updates for me are through a purchased USB that is tied to my VIN. I had never tried CarPlay because I didn't think it would work, and I don't care that much. I might rethink that at some point, but a 16GB USB stick of music or satellite radio for when the drive itself isn't engaging enough is usually all I need.
