My wife and I are partial to bright exterior colors and something other than black for the interior. I feel that beautiful and rare cars should be noticed. Easy to find in crowded parking lots too. Then again, we are the old people driving relatively slow. If you plan to go extralegal speeds on a regular basis, an exterior color that blends in with the rest is probably more appropriate. We currently have our 3rd and 4th F-Type. Maybe they aren't the best on a track but they are a pleasure to drive and real easy on the eyes. Congratulations!

Congratulations! Silver is a fantastic choice in the Jag sports cars as it shows off the curves so well and also doesnt show up the dust between washes. Remember that as good as it looks in pictures, on the road with the LED lights on it looks much, much better as it widens out the stance and the car (particularly the facelift) looks meaner. I am still amazed at how good looking these cars are when I see another one on the road, you wont be disappointed.

Great choice! You'll find that the car is a pleasant, easy to drive everyday sort of grocery getter.....if you want it be. On the other hand, put it in dynamic mode and use the paddle shifters to keep the revs up and the car comes to life with a furiousness that borders on insanity!

Enjoy!!

Buy the Monroney Label (window sticker in the U.S.) to learn the exact features, options and list price. I think that it costs something like $50 for one reproduction. If you're considering the purchase of more than one vehicle there are discounts when buying two or four reproductions. The latest year of production may not yet be available. The system will tell you prior to buying a label.

thanks all for the comments. I've been enjoying the last two days with the car although not really getting to crazy with the gas pedal. The wife (who drives a C7 Corvette and manual stick) is kinda afraid of it. I need to take her to an empty parking lot to get her used to it.

I got one question I need to find out. The tires are P-Zero's but looking at the sidewall I can't tell if they are run flats or not. Might need a trip to Discount tire so they can tell me. I'm getting all- seasons put on in the fall anyway. And in the trunk by the battery is a bottle of some sort of gunk for sealing a tire, but I got no idea how you get it in the tire. Not that I would do it. I've read where tire sealant will ruin your tire pressure sensors.

Run flat tires will have "run flat" written on the sidewall.

Run-flats were never standard though the previous owner could have installed them. The tire goo canister screws into a compressor which should be in the trunk too.

I found the little compressor, thinking that was only for putting air in a low tire. So the compressor is only for putting goo in?
I know run flats don't ride as well as standard tires from our Corvette. We have run flats on it because my wife does not want to be stranded. I may stay with standards when I switch to all-seasons.
Last flat I had was a Michelin with 20K mi on it that just exploded on the interstate. No goo would have helped that tire.

There should also be a tow hook located close to the battery in a Styrofoam holder. They tend to go missing.

We too had a run flat blow out on my wife's Bimmer in the middle of nowhere on a dark Sunday night 27 miles from home base. It took a while for a flatbed to arrive. All the while we worried that the tow truck driver wouldn't allow us to ride with him. Apparently, not all towing companies have insurance to cover passengers. Fortunately, he did. A week later my wife unloaded her X2 M35i for a Camry that came with a compact spare. Now she's back to a M340i that has run flats and no spare.

Actually, F-Types could be retrofitted with a compact spare. The removable floor and storage well beneath it need to be replaced with one designed to permit securing the spare. What with a compact spare and jack in the trunk/boot there'd be no room for luggage in a coupe. I'm not sure if a ragtop could even fit one in the trunk. Then, where would one put the flat tire? On the roof? In the passenger seat...if it would fit? I don't think that my wife would appreciate being left on the roadside while I proceeded on. A full sized tire is too large for the trunk/boot on a coupe.

Incorrect.
A full size front wheel and tyre combo fits in the trunk/boot of a coupe (tell me how I know!) but not a full size rear (unless you remove the cargo cover and leave it behind).

After picking up my 2023 R last week (at the advice of my son-in-law) He now has the bug bad. Next weekend he and I are driving 9hr to Georgia to pick up his F-type. A metallic blue, 2021 V6 with 27K miles.
Two Jags added to the family in 2 weeks.

Default The Gunk in the bottle

There was a whole thread on the sealant

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...system-271195/

There should be a compressor that came with the car. The issue with the factory bottle/sealant is that the sealant gets shot through the compressor.. IIRC. I saw that the sealant in my 2017 was past its expiration date and looked around for a replacement.
What I found was this Unibottle on Amazon. It fits perfectly in the space in the foam that the OE bottle used.
What's great about this sealant is that it has hoses, one from the compressor to the bottle and the second from the bottle to the tire, so no running the gook through the compressor.
Other owners have said that there is a Ford/FoMoCo replacement bottle that fits, too.
Photos show 1) the OE Mobility Kit procedure and 2) the Unibottle setup

My son-in-law (who is British) wanted to get a gently used F-type and since I'm a car nut he asked me to research the car. As you said I found them to pretty reliable.

For several months I've been searching for a C8 Corvette and after a while it seems those have all kinds of reliable issues, failing transmissions, electrical and just little things like trunk latches failing. So switched my search to the F-type. Just trying to decide V8 vs V6. I like the idea of the V8, but would never use the 575hp around town driving.

We have had 3 Corvettes and my wife drives a C7 Vette convertible right now so we know the brand, but no clue on Jags up till now.
Welcome to the club sir! I only have one summer season of driving behind me with mine, but this car has been everything I’d hoped for and more…So far anyway…

I personally think you likely dodged a bullet with not getting a C8. I loosely looked at those (Z06), but my research led me to the same conclusion you reached. I am also not on with the styling all that much, especially the base C8. Z06 improves on the proportions problem that the base car has in my view…

Anyway, the impression I have with these C8s is that they have all kinds of little problems that GM is not fixing on the line. It’s a high volume car, and I think they are just playing a numbers game…Let the problems crop up as they will and either deal them or ignore them…That’s my impression…Sounds like a potential hassle…

The F-type on the other hand is deep into its development with pretty much all the problems worked out. People like to complain about JLR, but they at least seem to fix problems as they come up…All one can ask of a manufacturer…

That problem with the corvettes having paint flake off around the headlights…I read that this is still a thing they have not corrected…Lights are too tight to the panels or something. Rather than address it they would have the owner paint a brand new car…Stuff like that is annoying…Letting things like that knowingly go on is not a good look for GM. I will not reward business to companies that operate like that…

Welcome, and enjoy your new car
