This Airman fit my 2017 perfectly.

 

Circumference is perfect but it was about a 1/4" too tall for the battery cover to sit in it's space. I was just out in the garage and used my bench grinder and a dremel to shave off the ribs on the underside of the cover. Much better cover fitment. Still about a 1/16" gap but that's close enough. We all know there are differences between our cars - it's a Jag - maybe because mine is an SVR.

 

I have a 2021 R Coupe Model. The factory tire goo bottle measures 4 7/8" high X 3 1/4" diameter. The top of the bottle comes pretty close to the underside of the panel that sits on top of that storage section so any bottle of goo would need to be less than 5" tall.

I think the confusion is that Amazon gives measurements for the 65-005-003 that don't specify if they are for the actual bottle of sealant or the packaged size. And for the 65-005-021 they give the "packaged size" in centimeters and the "product dimensions" in inches which are very close to the dimensions of the package size when you convert cm to in.

I'm thinking Ms. Stabenow's experience & example is the best choice (AIRMAN Tire Repair Sealant 450ml UNIBOTTLE ‎65-005-003). There is no way it would fit in the compartment of my car if it was in fact 7.48" tall so I'm thinking the published dimensions must be the size of the package it comes in and not the actual bottle.

 

You know after reading about all this sealant and its problems, I have decided to just go with a Tire Plug repair kit. Think about it, if your car is at home or work or stopped somewhere and you find a nail in it, just pump it up with your Jag compressor leave the nail in it because it was most likely a slow leak any way and drive to the nearest repair shop. Or just take the tire off the car and get it repaired. If you are on the road you are most likely to get a flat that the sealant isn't going to work any way. With a tire plug kit, pump the tire up, maneuver the wheel/tire to where you can get to the hole/nail/screw/etc, and plug it right there. The tire shop will love the fact it doesn't have a mess to clean up with the tire sealant. I purchased a small kit from amazon for less than the cost of sealant that includes the plugs, pliers ,ribbons, lube, tools etc

 

I have tire plug kits in both my Jag and my Mazda.The Mazda has a donut spare which is better than no spare at all. But I still wouldn't want to be changing a tire on the side of the road somewhere. I suppose I should add one of those 12V tire compressors to the emergency kit.

Using a plug kit would be my first plan of attack, using any kind of sealant goo would be my second choice. However when the bottle in mine expires I still want to replace it with a fresh bottle just to have it of needed.

 

I agree with having some overlap for tire emergencies. My most recent tire episode was a nail in the center of the tread. I didn't even realize what had happened until the F let me know the tire was low.. down to 19 lbs. I put the spec'd amount of air back in, and after a couple of days, it was losing a lb a day. I have a tire plug kit, some Slime and the Unibottle. Because the car was at home and we have a competent Indie shop in town, I just took the tire in to have them plug it. We recently changed from RunFlat Michelin Pilot sports on the Corvette to standard Michelin PS tires. Put together a tire repair kit for that car and will probably order a Unibottle as well. There is room for a scissors jack in both cars, so researching that now.

 

One difference may be that you have a dedicated spot in the trunk for the goo. In my MY14, the repair kit comes in a little rectangular bag with room for the pump, goo, and a glove. The diameter of the 450ml Airman matches the original. I don't have the original bottle at this point, but if it's a bit taller, it still fits the bag. Meanwhile, I'm with those who carry both the goo and a plug kit. Which one I choose to use may depend on circumstances, but I like having the choice.

 

The coupes get the cutouts in the foam carrier and the convertibles get everything in a bag. The bags have far more flexibility for alternate sizes.

 

Is there room under the trunk liner for one of these?

 

Oh, too funny! I could also pack my portable air tank that I used for Autocross racing, but I think I'll try my JLR pump!

 

There's room for the pump, but not for a defibrillator.
