Default Tinkering with Ultra Blue (opinions)?

Wondering what a red roof would look like with ultra blue. Haven't seen one of course, but I'm thinking it might look nice. I really wish Blue was offered on the "R" because I don't have a need for the "SVR" What do you guys think if this combination?

Love the "Ultra Blue." I can't see it w/ a red roof, but both black and the light grey (if still offered) would look nice. I have the latter on my Polar White '14 convertible, and it still looks brand new.

I would do black, unless you really like the American flag look that is. Black trim, top and wheels look really good with Ultra IMO. Red calipers add just the right hint of red.

Combined with the red roof it'll look a bit garish.

Love the blue, but I think you've got to go with the black top unless you're aiming for that Richard Petty with STP sponsorship look...

I would have to agree with everyone. The blue is sharp but with either the black or grey top. Even though it's only on the SVR you can still have yours wrapped in that color.

I would ask Jag for a sample of the ultra blue and the red fabric so you can properly judge the colours. The currently-offered red soft top is a lot 'redder' than that mock up, almost the same colour as the deeper reds in the rear lights, so is that red a new option with 2017 or the SVR? I think the original red would not work at all.

That darker colour is a lot better, but for me with very few exceptions I feel a black soft top is the only one that really works. (One such exception is the beige/caramel on a dark green car.)

If you opted for the part-black side sills/skirts where the lower part that juts out is gloss sparkly black then a black roof would tie in very well.

This ultra blue P7 has a black roof and shows what I mean about the skirts:

Definitely that blue is fantastic. Go with black or tan. Red doesn't work with that blue.

This, and he should know because his Polar White convertible has the red top, which I've seen. It is gorgeous w/ white, and it is a bright red. I think it would definitely look garish w/ Ultra Blue.

Yep, its RED alright, and not the dark shade that the configurator shows.

That's the first one I've seen with the red top anywhere other than mine. I see the photo seems to be from China. I'd love to know how many in the US have the red top on Polaris white with everything blacked out and black wheels. Seems to be a rare combo.

I've looked at quite a few on cars.com, almost never see a vert with anything other than a black top - people seem to lack imagination or something...

UK:

Yep, knew yours was gray (grey), which brings the total non black tops on the forum to 3 as far as I've noticed (mbourne's red being one, and I think there was a BRG with beige) - non-black are rare!

As Mshedden shows, the red roof is much more red and brighter than the configurator version. I went for it with Storm Grey, and was expecting a more maroon colour, but actually happy with the results

In the showroom, looks slightly darker than it really is.

In bright sunshine! Well, bright sunshine for the UK anyway!

Blue and red is referred to by the younger crowd as the "Superman Combo" and best left to the M3,M4 and GTR owners.

How about purchase an R and wrap it to get this color? I'm thinking of doing the same in a couple of months. It may not be that hard to get as near to that color as possible.
Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

IMHO if you like it, then go ahead and get it. You are the one who will be driving the car, and as such will only see it when you are outside the vehicle. If it were me, then yes I would do it, and I would also add red "meatballs" such as the P7 has.
