Default Tire Rack deal

I don’t know how long it will last but Tire Rack has a smoking deal on the rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4s 20” tires for our F Types. Just ordered a pair for $339. I’m going to get the fronts another time… they are standard pricing.

I was browsing through Tire Rack prices for rear tyres for my F-Type in the common 295/30ZR20 size a few hours ago and I came across this listing for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (one of several listings for the MPS4S): https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...4SXL&tab=Sizes
$169.99 USD each!!!
Well under half price!
I assumed it's an error/misprint so I didn't bite but maybe just maybe it's legit?
Please let us know how you go and if it's real or a mistake.

On the off chance that it might just be legit I tried to buy a pair but I can't get past the address/zip code box, seeing as I have an Oz postcode (4 digits) not a US zip code (5 digits) although they claim to ship O/S. I'll try dropping them a query and see how I go.

That’s nuts. I paid a bit over $400 for a 19” rear MPS4S this fall (though warranty covered it.)

Ditto - just ordered the rears at that terrific price and hope the fronts have a deal soon.

Looks like good news for those that were able to process their order…just got a confirmation that my order shipped! I honestly thought I would be getting an email from Tire Rack saying “Sorry, better luck next time”. Guess I will be on the hunt for matching fronts.

In a case like this where it was an obvious pricing error, you have no problem taking advantage of that mistake? Call me old school, but most people used to be honest and would probably check the price. You do realize that somebody would have to pay for that for you, right? You're ok with that?

No problem at all. Mistakes happen all the time.
They are corrected for a reason.

Not necessarily. I have purchased probably 15 sets of tires over the years through Tire Rack. 3 or 4 of those sets have been severely discounted, which is why I purchased them. It was not a case of incorrectly pricing them. Quite often, Tire Rack has smoking deals on tires that are either overstocked, 2 to 3 years old, new models have superseded them or the buyout by Discount tire makes them fire sale them. That is why I check Tire Racks website frequently because it is limited supply. Before you start questioning someone’s honesty, pause before you type.

One of the many hassles of being somewhere other than the good ol' US of A when it comes to cars and car parts.

I have also bought many sets of tires from tire rack as well as all kinds of other things over the decades. If there is a product that is tremendously discounted, there is always an explanation. You would think that a $450. tire selling for $166. might include some sort of reason for such a discount. Don't you think?

I bought as set of rear Pirellis for my 2016 S last summer for under $200 each from tire rack. They were advertised as having a 2019 date code, hence the reason for the discount. Since I had 2018 date coded tires on the rear already and they only last 8 or 9 thousand miles, I ordered them. I traded the car, along with the new tires uninstalled, in October on a 2017 SVR. I also found deals before on tires specified for Aston Martin, or Mercedes in the size that fit the F-Type. I bought them and they fit with no problem.
