Well, that explains the gap in posts.

Good job on getting back out there! What tracks are close to you?

Hehe yeah, took some time to mentally get over that crash but now I'm OK again.

As I have now moved back to Sweden, I only have some of the Swedish race tracks "close" to me. I live in Stockholm, so within 2-3 hrs drive I have fairly decent racetracks in Mantorp Park, Gelleråsen Arena, Kinnekulle Ring.

They're not that great by international standards (since I just moved back from Japan I dearly miss Fuji Speedway), but quite fun nonetheless.

Those may not be F1 circuits, but those are still professional quality circuits. I remember those from STCC especially Mantorp. Some of the tracks I have around me have tumbleweed blowing across them.

Hehe yeah well you're right in that sense - they are at least kept in good condition and actively used. Do you track your F-Type?

Sears Point is a real tragedy. The track has gone to complete ****. Massive seems in a few corners and and what do they do about it? More camping and paved access roads.

Sorry forgot to reply to your question.

I do not track my F-Type regularly. I have a S2000 race car as well as the Alfa Romeo 4C. However, I have tracked the F-Type several times to take students around the track during days I have been instructing but it's not my primary or desired car for tracking.

Jlsthlm, it's been interesting following your project on the forum!
You seem to be the only member that has installed the KW Variant 3 coilovers on an F-Type. What are your experiences with them? Do they live up to expectations? How is the impact on track and on road?

Money spent on #1 (driving schools, one on one instructor time, practice) will go much farter than #2 and significantly farther than #3. After years of racing, I could go much faster on a 55 hp bike than most track riders on a 180 hp bike. I found most of the bike skills translated well to the cars. A good driver in a Miata can turn faster laps than an average driver in a Porsche.
I'm gonna have to put brakes at the top of my list. Even if it's just a more suitable track pad and some Motul 660. Only 2 things that I *need* to work when I'm on the track - brakes & steering. Everything else can break if it needs to LOL.

Well I never tracked my V6 F-Type before the suspension change, so I don’t have a perfect comparison, but the experience vs my previous F-Type R is a lot better. Much less swaying and feels more predictable and controllable.

I’ll have some more data points as soon as the season starts here in Sweden, currently still snowing every other day…

Stuart, how is the progress with VAP's F-Type coilover project? KWs,may be a fine product, but I would expect your offer to be competitive...

Thanks for the feedback. Less sway and more predictability/control is music in my ears. Looking forward to hearing more when the season starts. BTW, I am in Copenhagen so I could on a little road trip check out your action on the track.

We have working prototypes for both AWD & 2WD, working on packaging for the adaptive delete functionality. Our product will be much better priced than KW, and not as 'fancy'. However, we're working with a manufacturer who's product we have already durabilty tested for 2+ years on street cars and on a number of race cars we maintain that see heavy abuse. Our target for this product was not a 'super race crazy money' Ohlins type deal (like, you literally could not have a better product but it's $8-10,000) We're hoping for something in the low $2000 USD range, with the integration kit, and a product which focuses on durability and function first and foremost. We have been working on selecting spring rates & valving and will probably have both a street focused and track focused spring/valving option.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm OK with "less fancy" translating to bump and rebound not being independently adjustable. I was in touch a while ago with a damper specialist firm from the Netherlands that seem to have a really nice high-end product (I'm not sure what price range) check them out for inspiration: https://www.intraxracing.nl/nl
Keep us posted about the progress of your offer.
