The cherry on top of my epically, spectacularly crap week was that my car got mauled by a turkey. From the evidence, its reflection scared the **** out of it, prompting an attack. Four panels: the entire driver's side from the front wheel around to the back bumper.
I must have pissed in one of the Elder God's corn flakes, and more than once.
I gave the car a quick wash this evening and will assess the damage better in the morning. I think it'll buff right out, as they say, but for now, I think it's time for a barrel-aged malt beverage. I put a Parabola in for a quick chill, and I hear it calling my name.
If the scratches don't buff out then I recommend you try the Quixx method: https://www.ebay.com/itm/QUIXX-Car-R...kAAOSwEEBaJaHB
I have used it many times for small surface scratches in the clear coat and it works really well.
If you have the polisher, you likely have various polishes. Hope it buffs out.
I do indeed. I'll start with the least aggressive, as one should.

I insure with Farmers, but would rather not file a claim. My rates are high enough already :/
As for the turkeys, we have lots passing through the property. Possible remedies under consideration: tetrazzini, pot pie, roast. Other recipes may come up.
Last night's wash gave me a better idea of the actual condition. I only gave it a brief inspection when I went to get the paper, but I think the mildest polish I have might be good enough. I'll try after breakfast.
Spoke too soon on the "bad week" front though. I woke up with whatever bug was going around (sore throat, etc). Sheesh.
Holy crap!!!! Hope it buffs out!! Same color as my F-Type, and...I was in central California last week, parked on a Ranch road overnight and saw (and heard) a large male wild turkey wandering around. Never even considered a turkey attack! What DID happen though, is that I found that a couple of cows decided to lick the drivers side door and window overnight No damage, but lots of slobber.

I had a friend who, like me, got one of the very first year MV Agusta F4S models. He was a goofy German, and had put a small sticker on the fuel tank that said, in German, "Please do not lick the paint." I just looked to see if I had a picture, but apparently I do not.
Not sure if California cows can read German anyway.
I had a metal parking garage gate close on the top of my XE, which left scratches that looked far worse than this.
I used Meguire's ScratchX 2.0 and an applicator pad to buff them out by hand. Looks like it never happened. I suggest you give that a try - these look like they could easily be taken care of with ScratchX. Might want to go with an electric buffer though, because it's covering such a large surface area.
I got the front fender and the driver's door done before the sun moved around and drove me inside.
Clay bar, first, to get a proper look. Not too bad. Then, the Porter Cable 7424 and a low cut (green) pad, with Menzerna PO Finishing Polish brought things back. Reapply cQuartz and it looks great. I'll do the rear quarter and rear bumper when the shade moves around.
I'll do the rest of the car too, but just clay and cQuartz. It's been a year, so a spa treatment is in order.
