Not sure what it's called, but is there supposed to be a cover underneath the dash on the driver's side? Like if you were laying on your back , head on the floor looking up?

You'd think, but no.

I asked the same question when I first got mine. They went to the effort of moulding hangers for a trim piece, but never actually produced one to fit it.

I wonder why not?
I can only guess it was to save a few pennies, as the weight saving would be tiny and they don't really help much with noise reduction.
Both my XFs had these pieces on both sides, called "hush panels".
Very light and flimsy, and sometimes a real PITA to get back properly in place.

The ones on the XF were so terrible I am probably thankful they didn't bother ;-)

Maybe they are actually there, but are so light and flimsy now we can't see them?
