Active exhaust compressor removal
Has anyone had the TSB done regarding the active exhaust compressor noise because it makes noise constantly at low speeds? I believe they remove the compressor and run the vacuum lines off the engine. Does the exhaust still work the same? Are there any adverse effects of having this TSB done? I am on the fence of whether it is worth it. The compressor runs all the time when I am in stop and go traffic and it's rather annoying and I feel like people can hear it when I'm on conference calls in the car. Any input would be appreciated.
If it's running the whole time, either or all of the following could apply:
1. You have a vacuum leak;
2. The pressure sensor has failed;
3. It isn't actually pumping - even though it's running.

Got the tsb done on my car two years ago. Active exhaust works like before.
One problem i see is that there now is a long vacuum tube on the floor of
the car which isnt covered very well. If there will ever be a leakage in the exhaust
vacuum system the engine will suck in a lot of dirty air which would never occur
using the electrical pump.
Imho keeping the original pump is the better solution .
