Useful Phone Apps - Have One You Really Like?
After seeing the phone app, 'Waze', mentioned over and over again on this (I think) forum, and having no idea what it was, I checked it out. VERY cool! Although I'm not necessarily looking for a replacement for my F-Types built-in Nav, I especially like the notion of knowing the speed limit wherever I am. My very limited usage precludes me from knowing the degree of accuracy this thing has, but the concept is great. I am hopeful that it has a high degree of reliability.
So I got to looking to see what other apps are out there that I might like. The apps that produce a warning when approaching a speed trap also, in theory, look promising. If I understand how they work though, they rely 100% on user input, so I question how reliable they may be. I'll be putting it to a test though. If nothing else, it should be interesting.
I am wondering what other apps folks are using to enhance their driving experience. Have one you really like?

I have Android Auto in my Taco. When combined with voice commands, it is pretty damn cool. Just tell it where you want to go and Google figures it out an puts it on the head unit screen. It also allows easy access to phone, radio, internet, all by voice or large buttons displayed on the head unit.

The equivalent iPhone of Android Auto is CarPlay but that's not currently an option in the F-Type InControl. The nearest equivalent to try is JustDrive. There are currently problems as yet unresolved for TMO users as the voice gateway they use is not IPV6 compliant which means voice commands don't work. Not sure if that applies to other cell carriers.

O.K. Dogbreath, I'm going to demonstrate my southern ignorance(is that an oxymoron or something??). Anyway, I get my tacos from Taco Bell, and they do not navigate me anywhere. How do I get my Samsung to hook into my beef burrito to get me back to the Taco Bell? Really, I am not familiar with the 'Taco", you are referencing. Enlighten, please.

O.K., makes a lot more sense now. It had been a long day(that's my story, and I'm sticking to it...). Amazing how the Japanese, Korean, cars can get these things right, and Cadillac, and JLR still have problems. My wife's XTR5 is going back for the 3rd time to 'update' the nav system. It will not recognize her voice, or accept local streets that have been in existence for 50 years. Go figure.
