Useless Mod of the Day - Water Methanol Spray Indicator
OK...So this was just for fun (since I still act like a kid and I am easily amused). I had a little spare time, some extra materials and an idea...
I previously installed my Water Methanol Controller in the console right behind the center panel...because it is easy to pop on and off and reach....Easy to adjust and pop back in place. I also previously affixed a smaller Growler badge (71 MM?) there in the center (just because I thought it looked good?). It bugged me that it was the only piece still with any chrome on it, so I decided to take it off and leave the center gloss black, and spray the chrome parts satin black.
So I got it painted, and I thought it looked good/better in all black...Matches the upholstery perfectly actually.
While I had it off, I had the idea to drill out the eyes, and add two red LED's with ~3-400 Ohm resistors, and tie it in to the Methanol Controller (which is a variable sprayer, that send a signal to an indicator wire that varies from ~0 - 5 volts, so the indicator light is barely on when the system is armed, but as you accelerate and it sprays more juice...the light gets brighter).
So you guessed it...Now, when I turn the system on, the growler eyes glow a faint red...When I accelerate they get progressively brighter, and at full throttle/spray....they are bright angry RED! As I said...Useless Mod of the day But fun. Crappy pictures, because I had trouble getting the shots with the lights on...But you get the idea.
No real cats or animals were harmed during this production....
Yeah. Yeah, I like it. Definitely better than the chrome as well.

👍 Thank you...It is pretty cool at night when I start accelerating, the Meth/Water starts spraying, and ole bright eyes glows brighter and brighter red the more you accelerate and spray
That IS completely useless but possibly the coolest mod I’ve seen. Nice work.
As a kid (my dad is an engineer and taught my about circuits at a very early age) I threw a set of LED on my Millennium Falcon toy and was the envy of the neighborhood.
