Answer: nothing
From what I have heard...anything over 2,500 RPM will throw a code..but meh...who cares, the S/C will just bleed of the extra boost....so yeah.

holy crap .... three!!!!

what was the downtime and labor cost to replace?
mine os slipping on hard launches every once in a while.

@Stuart...thanks for explaining the logic behind your decision on your crank pulley size. Stopped me from making an impulse buy...lol.
The clutch on these cars is a known issue. Read the following thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...h+satisfaction

Check first with your dealer. if the car has less than 15k miles, they might cover it under warranty as were my first two replacements. I had to pay for the 3rd replacement. The dealer's original labor quote was $2600 and I negotiated them down to $1900. I only had them do it since they were already half way through the project to determine if Jag would cover the cost. The dealer also let me provide the parts which can be had online for 40% off (total of $1350). Next time I'll use my performance shop and custom made parts. Before this, I never went through a clutch in less than 40k miles, and can't remember ever replacing a clutch on any of my racecars.

Once a map is downloaded to an ECU it can be copied. I believe the VIN locking is for dedicated handhelds. Unless I’m wrong about that.
What you are proposing will indeed work. You will still need to get the OEM tune file onto a computer to be modified. Most tuning programs can take one file and compare it to another, so a tuner could more easily determine what maps/tables need to be modified in the OEM file. This assumes that the modified tune you get from someone else is in a file format that is compatible with your tuning software. Of course, this doesn't consider the ethical aspects of ripping off the intellectual property of another tuner that put the massive effort of identifying the correct maps/tables of the hundreds or thousands in the file to modify to develop a safe and effective tune.

We have a dealer in the UK who can sell you our crank pulley tuning file, all OBDII flashed. David Appleby Engineering in Banbury.

Thanks Stuart
Have already spoken to Appleby about getting the car tuned there.

Had not concidered buying a tuning file of them to match the crank pulley.

Will give them another call.

Sounds good. They would be able to OBD flash it for you with our Kess V2.

You can spec the file with a few options - eco stop/start deactivation, pops & crackles, set up for 200 cell cats etc.

BTW - your handle.... I don't know if you go on the MG Experience site, but my brother is detailing his Ford 200 Straight Six swap into an MGB! Pretty cool swap, it's period and being aluminum with aluminum heads it's actually lighter than the 4 pot.

Both very cool. My brother put an IRS in, not sure where it's from though. He was originally going to go forced induction but after finding a good aftermarket aluminum head he realized he'd be at 300ft/lbs at almost no RPMs and had more than enough power!

Do you have any pics of the XKR?

Hi STUART
Got 300ftlb out of the 4.6 rover which wasn’t quite enough once I had the IRS suspension sorted. Way too much for old leaf spring setup.

Will see if I can find your brothers on the net.

My XK is running LS9 engine and transaxle. Might be on the road one day.

He could definitely get more. He actually has a Hoslet turbo setup to go on it, but he originally went that route because the Aluminum crossflow heads weren't available than and he needed it to make the power. With the crossflow head guys are easily getting 300ft/lbs which for a newbie on the track I think is plenty.

Really, an upper + lower is going to make some more mid range and not much more top end.

It would be similar fitting a slightly larger crank pulley. Really to go more than 450BHP would need a larger charger.
how much would you get out of it with a larger charger? A question I have difficulty to find is how much can you actually can get out of this engine? Can you get 600hp for example or more? And if so what would it take? I understand that people are getting like 1000hp out of V6 supras because of the demand, etc. But is it technically possible to get more than 450-480hp out of the S or 400 version? Thanks!
