Question V6 S variable valve timing solenoid goes bad

Does anyone have experience with a variable valve timing solenoid going bad? This just happened to me. Engine suddenly started idling rough and the check engine light came on, then it started losing power and running rough. Drove straight to the dealer, so only about 30 minuted of driving in this state. According to the dealer other JLR vehicles have had recalls over this. They replaced the part and did a bunch of diagnostics and declared the engine A-OK. I'm wondering if there are any long term concerns.
