Default V6 variable exhaust retrofit?

hi, looking at a v6 which does NOT have the factory variable exhaust based on pics of the interior. how hard is it to add it? or can i just cut out the mufflers? love those pops and burbles.

ill be spending 40k on what appears to be a base model v6 vert with low miles. but no fancy exhaust, sigh. already went through this in the past with corvettes and whatnot, wondering if itll be buyers remorse. anyone know any examples of the vanilla stock exhaust without said option? every single youtube vid and such is of a car with that magic button. k great but whats the vanilla version even sound like?

=/

It is QUIET...you can hear the pops and burbles if you know what to listen for.

Its like the Wizard of Oz, hiding behind the curtain!

How can you tell from the interior which exhaust system is fitted?

I didn't think all cars with the active exhaust necessarily have the switch ....

correct, doesnt have that magic button on the console. easily noticed, kinda disappointed. ill be looking at the car later today, we'll see how it goes. v6 vert with low miles, not many such examples in socal at the moment.

Get the revs above 4,000 and you'll know if you have the active exhaust, button or no button.

This is not a good way to determine if you have exhaust with adjustable valves. While during initial years base V6 was released without variable exhaust, later JLR switched to equipping all cars with it, but simply not install the button on base.

ah, THATS interesting. yeah, its a 2017 vert v6, looks like a base model, based on all the stuff you don't see in the interior pics. none of the buttons for this, for that, etc. but hey, a vert is the way to go here in socal, i kinda miss my vert corvette z06 haha. we'll see how it goes, the guy wants 40k. not bad.

The main issue with base is lack of limited slip differential. If you intend to push your car, it will be noticeable downside.

nah, its basically a GT car, i'll use it as such. if i wanna go fast i have a motorcycle for that. test drove it, sounded fine if you just get on it a little, works for me. plus if i get the itch i can always put an aftermarket exhaust on it at a later time..
