Default V6S 6MT sound

Hi Guys,

I am looking at a V6s and considering the 6MT. One thing I was hoping to ask all the MT drivers out there, is does the sound differ on the manual compared to the auto? One of the big attractions for me about the F Type is the way it burbles and crackles on the overrun, does the manual do this like the auto does?

Thanks for the help!

After the initial break-in period, I think the burbles, pops, etc. on the MT are every bit as pronounced as the AT, and far easier to beckon (double-clutching). However, I'm biased, so take it for what it's worth. In the first five hundred miles the snap, crackle, pop on the MT did seem muted, but that is all gone now (along with a 10% improvement in fuel economy.

Thank you sir!

Is it true that its only possible to get those pops and crackles at higher RPMs in the manual car? or is that only in the break-in period?

I have a MT with 1,200 miles. The car makes the sounds at high RPMs, up/downshifting
from 3rd to 2nd or 2nd to 1st or vice versa.

I suspect the only sound you lose with the MT is the blip/burp/fart from a high-throttle high RPM paddle upshift. But it's my least favorite sound.

Definitely not just for break-in, it's a permanent feature. Anything over above approx. 3500 rpm, then lifting the throttle, will have it popping away.

Burbbles and popping at any rpm after a throttle blip. I was originally the most vocal about the lack of burrbles and pops from the MT back in July. No longer an issue. You'll get plenty, and you'd hear them much better in the vert.
