Vacuum leak?
For 2019 Jaguar F-Type P300 2.0t. Question for the experts. Check engine light went on. After checking, P0507 code shows on OBD reading. Has rough idle and RPM would fluctuate up and down. At times, high idle in park. Took to mechanic and he saw that there was a vacuum line that was not connected. We could not figure out where the line can be connected. Does not look torn off. Just out of place. He decided to plug it and it’s idling smooth now but I want to make sure if it’s ok to plug that vacuum line? The vacuum line was plugged with a screw, is there better ways? Also it is located on the back of the engine. I only drove it home after the mechanic’s trip. He erased the code and it hasn’t came on. My concern is just if that vacuum hose belongs to be plugged into something. If someone has a diagram of the back of the engine or even that vacuum line. I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you all.
Can't find the workshop manual links to download right now, but do a search on the forums, or subscribe to TOPIX for an hour and pull down the diagram.
Old school spray starting fluid in the area you think it is and see where it goes and what happens.
For plugging buy a vacuum cap assortment from Amazon or local autoparts store. Slightly nicer looking than a screw, unless it is a titanium screw.
pictures would be really helpful

Hope this helps! The bottom picture is where the hose originates. Please let me know if more photos are needed.

Please see my other response. I’ve included pictures. I did a search on the forums and just couldn’t find anything in particular to this model. It’s a pain. I can’t find anything for the 2.0 engine.
