vacuum reading at idle
does anyone know what the vacuum should be for a 2.5 at idle. I have a misfire code nightmare and the sensor is around 8 inches of vacuum. This seems awfully low. I cant find the specs anywhere.
gbrutschea, normally the vacuum at idle is around 20+" of vacuum. So, it sounds like to me you have a vacuum leak somewhere. I would check the big 3 hoses and then see what you have at that point.
I got in this morning idle stumbling no brake assist. I am going to dealer to get new vacuum line for brakes. Goes away when car warms up. Multiple misfire engine codes p00300, p00302, p00303, p00304, p00305, p00306, p1316, p1111. It really showed up in the cold weather this morning. I was pulling my hair out because I had not seen this only the cel before. I had replaced the pcv tube and I will double check this first. I hope I dont have a cracked fitting. Someone had borrowed the car and I thought they over revved it in neutral.
I could not find anything wrong with the brake booster/check valve line. I went ahead and changed out the yellow o-rings for the green coated ones. I will see in the cold morning if it is fixed.
Well idle problem is fixed but it got below freezing and it seemed the brake pedal went to the floor at the end of the block. I will put a scan tool and check the vacuum reading tomorrow.
