Default Vacuum pump for brake

this one is in front of the V8 Engine, and is a pump for the Brake System, what ever..
I will change this, than the pump is defect. Since this pump is installed directly on the engine,
I assume that I must first drain the engine oil. The pump has a sealing ring on the back, as there
is a mechanical connection to the inside of the engine. Without draining the engine oil, it will
probably not work. Who can perhaps help here?

thank you so much

Andi

I recently had an issue where my supercharger belt broke and in turn broke the 90 degree plastic fitting on the top of the brake vacuum pump and wiped out the hose connected to the fitting. I ordered a cheap pump and took the fitting off of it. I put the new fitting on the factory pump and replaced the hose. Everything worked great.

A couple of notes:

The repair is about as simple as it can be. If I recall, there are three long bolts and access is about as good as it can be on these cars.

The oil must be drained, as this pump connects to the sump.

Check the torque specs, as the bolts don’t require much.

I recently suffered a SC belt failure that took out the fitting on the brake booster pump. Rather than replacing the whole pump, I found this fitting on Amazon -
Amazon Amazon

The listing doesn't mention fitting an F-Type, but it lists several other JLR 3.0 and 5.0 applications. Has anyone tried this on an F-Type?

The pump itself is cheap enough and fails fairly regularly. I’d just replace the pump. FCP stocks them.
