Default Very Sad

Went to Gym this morning and when I came back some #%^¥ has dinged the front of my F. No note, no cameras nothing.

My perfect car is no longer perfect and I will have to pay my deductible and lose my no claim bonus.

Not happy.

Sorry to hear the bad news. I know you had to be sick to your stomach when you saw it. I felt the same way after someone keyed the front end of my C7 after only 1 month of ownership. I paid out of pocket for my repairs to avoid the insurance fiasco.. Again sorry about your car...

I feel your pain man. Once you'll have it fixed, you'll forget about it.

One of my cats, jumped on the hood and did two hairline scratches. I was livid and could not sleep that night. They buffed off next day for the most part, but once you break the "perfectness" the other minor issues will not affect you.

Are any of the metal panels damaged, or just the front bumper?

Unfortunately it has folded down the front lip of the metal bonnet. (Hood)

Very sorry to hear that. I hope it's a quick and easy repair.

Oh, man - that's terrible! So sorry to hear that. Guess that's why we have insurance.

Have you had a good look at other buildings in the vicinity? Perhaps one of them has a security camera that might have caught something?

Sucks AnD3rew, sorry to hear it. It's what we all fear but I would also suggest putting it in perspective. No, I am not suggesting being happy about it but it will get fixed.

Unfortunately this sort of s#%^ happens and the world is full of a$$-holes who just don't care. I say f#%^ em!

Best regards and lots of luck.

Its a car- don't fester -it will get fixed and you will be whole again!

I had a beautiful cream 911 5 years ago and we had a freak hail storm here on Long Island, I was on the parkway and people stopped under a bridge to keep from getting damaged leaving the rest of us out in the open and not moving. I watched the rear window of an MB explode with an impact in front of me as coffee cup sized hail fell. I had 138 pock marks on every panel it looked like a titelist - 17,000$ later the car was
fixed but only because I went immediately to my body shop- he had people waiting 2 months to get in as there were so many cars damaged, waiting with a damged car would have been much more embarassing

Karma is a bitch, and someone will get theirs in time.

Be glad nobody backed into a child or some other person. I know it sucks, but it's fixable.

WOW. Surely you have before and after pictures? I'm sure we'd all like to see them - and I've seen that sort of stuff before, although I was never "in it" - even if you don't wish to relive that experience. Mother Nature! Motherf%^&#%'s are a different matter.

Sorry to hear that. In the USA that wouldn't affect your insurance since all you would need to do is file a police report and claim comprehensive damage but you are in Australia. The laws may be different there.

Sorry to hear it man! I've had the local Ding Doctor remove 2 dents from my F-Type already. If the guy wasn't such a magician, I would have been a lot more upset about it. As many times as I try to park away from everyone, there is always that one person...

Regardless. It sucks big time!

Yes I agree with all those who say To put it in perspective, I am pissed off and it is very inconvenient but it is not a world shattering event I realize and yes it will be fixed.

The more I look at it, the more I am convinced that it wasn't a car and that it was actually malicious. The way it looks is that somone has jumped one foot onto the front of the car, like they ran up to it leapt on and pushed off with one foot.

There are scratches and black marks on the top of the plastic nose cone and the black trim ring inside it is loose but it is otherwise undamaged and then the front lip of the hood is pushed down in one spot about 6 inches wide and the whole frot of the hood is now misaligned at the edges where it meets the wings.

That's possibly the downside of parking away from the other cars, it makes it more isolated, I was deliberately at the back of the car park where there were few other cars around.

Sounds like you may want to talk to the management of the gym - can't imagine you'd ever park your car there again.

Weird things I have noticed when parking my R. Whenever possible, I park out in the remote parts of any lot, far away from any other vehicles.
Without fail, when I come out of the store 20 minutes later, there are two or three cars parked right near me, or even right next to me, when there is still half a wide-open parking lot available to them.
I understand why people might gravitate to this car, but seriously! Do you have to park right next to me when there are so many other choices?

So GOD-damn true! And why many of us walk - park - the fine line of too close to everyone and too far. I always try to park next to other nice cars; cars which I think are gonna care about theirs and, of course, mine.

Of course there can never be 100% certainty of...well...anything.

Sorry AnD3rew.

Best regards,
Jay

I am thinking of getting a dash cam, has anyone got one set up that can record even when the car is shut down?

So all of my "driver" cars have had this and never a single note. Insurance doesn't care. The deductible in this case goes under comprehensive which for me has been ridiculously high. Scares me to leave my Jag unattended so I rarely drive it and only valet or private garage park for that reason.

Kinda defeats the purposes, and joys, of having a beautiful car doesn't it? If and when I worry more about the state of my F-Type than the pleasures of driving it, come what may...well...that's just not going to happen. S#%^ happens and while I'm not going to be happy about it - if something should - I'm also not going to lose sight that its just a car and cars are meant for one thiing and one thing only (other than intrinsic beauty, like art) and that's to be driven.

That's my take, yours may differ.

Respectfully,
RJ52
