Very Sad
Weird things I have noticed when parking my R. Whenever possible, I park out in the remote parts of any lot, far away from any other vehicles.
Without fail, when I come out of the store 20 minutes later, there are two or three cars parked right near me, or even right next to me, when there is still half a wide-open parking lot available to them.
I understand why people might gravitate to this car, but seriously! Do you have to park right next to me when there are so many other choices?

I'm very sorry, Andrew.
I've also had it happen too many times, but one of the advantages of getting older is that things like that get increasingly trivial in the grand scheme of things. It's just a thing that can be fixed.

Would I rather be able to trust the rest of the world to treat my car with respect? Yes. Sadly it's just not going to happen.
Not really. I drive the **** out of it and put it away clean and dent free. When I need to take it out and park it I just need to make sure it's not next to shopping carts and d-heads -- iow, valet. For all the other times I just take one of my drivers.

Happy motoring, regardless of the a$$-holes of the world!

Sucks! I see *** holes who go out of their way to park next to a nice car no matter how far out you park. I've left restaurants if I can't get an acceptable space. Fortunatly valet parking in Vegas is a big deal and free everywhere. Tip driven so cars aren't screwed with.
Kinda defeats the purposes, and joys, of having a beautiful car doesn't it? If and when I worry more about the state of my F-Type than the pleasures of driving it, come what may...well...that's just not going to happen. S#%^ happens and while I'm not going to be happy about it - if something should - I'm also not going to lose sight that its just a car and cars are meant for one thiing and one thing only (other than intrinsic beauty, like art) and that's to be driven.
That's my take, yours may differ.
Respectfully,
RJ52

well I havent got the final quotes as yet but it looks unlikely to come in at less than $10k. that a lot of money for a ding that you have look twice to see from a distance.
Look like new hood, new front bumper, new grille, New top radiator mount bar plus labour and paint.

Unfortunately, as we all know, there's no shortage of inconsiderate a$$-holes.
It's only money and a big hassle - and nobody blames you for being pissed! -and hope you get it resolved soon.
Waved good bye to my beautiful Cat yesterday as iit went off to the body shop. I miss it already. My big old Discovery 3/LR3 truck is just not the same.
Hope it isnt gone too long. they cant tell me yet as they had to strip the front to see what they needed to replace and then find out if the parts are in the country.

About 15 years ago my father went off on a 3 week extended vacation and I got a call from his condominium: someone who didn't like my father had trashed his beloved XJ-8 Vanden Plas. I went to pick it up, expecting the worst.
All the glass was intact. Someone had danced on the hood, flattening it. All four doors were kicked in. The rear fenders were kicked in. Kick marks all over the lovely BRG car. But it was 100% drivable, I called the insurance company and took it to a local body shop which had to order parts.
The bonnet was replaced, the kicked-in metal pulled out and the car resprayed.
During the week we were waiting for parts I took the car EVERYWHERE, I think we put close to 1,000 miles on it.
Supermarket parking lots? No Problem!
Home Depot? No Problem!
Boston street parking, the Jersey Shore, Pats Steaks in South Philly. For a week I was free to park anywhere.
The car was fixed. My father came home, drove the car for a couple of days before someone told him that it had been vandalized and had $15,000 worth of work done.

My daughter's 17 year old best friend asked "is your Jaguar your new baby?"
I said, "No, she's my new mistress."
My wife, who was present, nodded knowingly.

Yep me too. My wife is quite happy that my mistress is a car not a woman. She is also happy that I owe lots of money on it which means I can't afford a mistress or a divorce :-)

You also can't afford alimony with the car payment. Last time I got divorced I put all my money into down payments for just that reason. The cash disappeared in depreciation and the income went to payments. Cheap way out and I got to keep the toys.

I backed into garage wall! First self inflicted wound since '02. Scaped bumper and rear quarter, broke tail light, small dent above tail light. $3474 to fix at Jag approved shop, same one dealer as well as all high end dealers use. If you want to know the taillight is $488! There goes my one no penalty claim! If it was a Camaro probably $750!
