Default What's my 2011 XKR worth?

Hey all,

I've sadly decided to sell mt beloved XKR. Just not driving her enough to justify keeping, a bit sad to sell a car I enjoy so much.

Can anyone share their informed opinion as to what she's worth?

It's a Jaguar Certified (aka Select Edition) 2011 coupe in black. Everything but the adaptive cruise control, 19" rims. Wear and tear warranty (only available off 2011's, covers everything except tires) expires end of October. Otherwise it's warrantied by Jaguar for 6/100k. Just over 20k miles on the odo, low miles. Car runs perfectly.

Paint is in good shape, never had more than detailing done to buff out swirl marks. As the mileage would suggest there's little wear on anything and it's been a very reliable car, no accidents.

Thoughts?

Thanks everyone,

Skeeter

Writing a good ad (incl good pics) and placing it in the best place(s) will make a huge difference to what you get.

For ideas, look at what others did.

Was the repair of the electrical wiring created from the rats ever reported to CarFax. Have you purchased a CarFax to make sure the car is "clean"?

I agree on the ads, lots of photos and a good descriptive ad will help allot. Be realistic on price expectations as owners of vehicles always think they are worth more than what they really are.

I looked at the latest auto auction results for a 2011 Jaguar XK series, which includes XK & XKR.

Only 1 2011 Jag XK Convertible was sold at auction on August 27th, 2015. The XK had 11,038 miles on the car. The car sold for $41,800. So I suspect since yours is an XKR with 20,000 miles, the car is probably worth about $48,000 to $51,000 at best. While your XKR still has a warranty, the warranty is a great selling feature, but won't as very much to a future re-sale of the car.

Here's 2010 Jag XKR Vert, which is worth more than the coupe for sale of eBay for $44,500...this car has lower mileage than yours.

Hopefully this info sets some sort of pricing guideline for you. Very few of these cars are for sale as production numbers are so low.

At that price you will have no problem selling the Jaguar.

It shold sell immediately.

At $40,000 I personally think you're giving it away.

Best to you.

The car looks nice, well-optioned and it's in Cali which tends to bring a slightly higher dollar... in all honesty I disagree with the prior poster and using the SWAG system guess the value will be right at 36-40K. Sorry to burst your bubbles XKR owners! I'm looking at 2 2010 with very slightly higher miles in great condition conv listed at $35K by owners in great condition, desirable color combo's, well-optioned... high 40K's would be for 2012+ XKR's. If you doubt me take it to a CarMax and get a dose of reality. KBB, Edmunds, NADA are fun to use as a buyer but hold little real value in trying to comprise a real market value price rather it predicated upon what the car is truly selling in today's market - and that can be seen directly on ebay "sold" items or evident on how long cars are on the market for at prices that are on the high side. Example - there's been a 2007 xk near me here in Laguna beach that started over 8 mo's ago on craigslist asking 24 or so, every couple months they've lowered the price even tried it on eBay and the highest bid was $14K, it's still on there now for $20K stating that he lost his job needs the money. You can try holding out for high price but the longer it sits the less likely you are to move it.

Take a look at Cars.com, Autotrader, eBay, cargurus... not the dealer ads as most are simply looking for the fool with a thick wallet to buy at above retail prices for "less than" ideal cars. Also remember that as the temperature goes down so will the prices nationwide. We all want to believe that once we get our cars they're value holds up great but take a look at eBay "sold" cars and those listed by owners and you'll get a more clear view.

That car posted above on eBay had 16,200 miles, in fantastic shape, had zero bids listed at $40K also had new tires.

Good luck

Dealership was willing to entertain mid $40's as a purchase without me even negotiating. I wish you luck in your search, but don't think you'll find a 2011 XKR Coupe @ 20k with the wear and tear warranty intact AND the certified warranty (till 2017) for less than $45k. I'm guessing $50k is a more correct price. Truth is they aren't easy to find, which cuts both ways in terms of resale...

I was happy to give a friend a good (who isn't afraid to redline an engine on occasion) a deal and know that the big cat will be appreciated. I might even have occasional visitation rights ;-)

Thanks all,

Skeeter
