Post Vibration/VelocityAP exhaust solved

Hello all,

Wanted to pass this along to those that may have issues with vibration inside the cabin. The vibration issue in my 2017 R with 20K miles was constant around the 1k-2k RPM range from underneath the center console/behind the passenger seat.

After several attempts of removing rear tires/wheel well trim, and following various brake and vacuum lines the vibration issue could not be found. I was just about to start removing interior components but decided to go underneath the car one last time using a mallet to tap on various items. The sound was somewhat replicated when tapping on various areas of the exhaust. All rubber hangars looked good and zero issues with heat shield clearance.

Issue:

The factory Intermediate Pipe - Jaguar (T2R2316) was replaced last year with the VelocityAP 200 cell cat/exhaust as well as all new converter pipe clamps (JDE32544) and muffler pipe insulators (T2R24284). I remember when pulling the 200 cell/intermediate pipe noticing the pipes were welded together where the downpipes come in close proximity to each other compared to the Velocity pieces being separate. This may cause the intermediate pipes to hang slightly lower. While under the car looking at the exhaust from front to rear, the intermediate pipes could be seen slightly touching the front of the smallest 4 bolt undercarriage brace. After pulling the brace and adding a washer to each bolt between the brace and the body of the car the vibration is resolved by giving a slight additional clearance for the pipe. The big cat is quite and happy once again.

However, I did notice that my rear steering tie rod assemblies (C2D51044 ordered) will have to be replaced as the rubber boot is starting to give. With 20K miles and only driven in good weather and not abused I find that ridiculous compared to other cars where suspension parts last well into 100K plus miles. If there is one word to describe the F-type in my opinion it would be finicky. These big cats like attention and due to the absolute love of the platform that attention is something I am more than willing to provide.
