VVT or chain Rattle in Engine
Hi all, Starting a new thread because I've ruled out the supercharger I believe.
Have a rattle, see attached video. The video makes it sound much worse than it is, but it's there without a doubt. For reference, with the hood closed it's barely audible, and with the windows down sitting in the car you can't hear it.
Symptoms:
Only When Hot. Not up to temp, but after a long, 20+ minute drive or sitting in heavy traffic in the heat.
Will disappear and re-appear on 5 sec intervals occasionally.
Will Disappear completely sometimes for a minute or two.
Only at idle. Completely disappears with the smallest bit of throttle.
Replaced Supercharger coupling, No dice. Fuel Pumps are nice and quiet.
Went in with a Stethoscope, When I put the scope on the bolts holding in the VVT solenoids? on the front of the driver's side of the engine, I get noise, same with the front most valve cover bolt on the Driver's side. (USA Drivers side)
2016 V6 Base, 60k miles.- My understanding is the V8's were the only problems with the timing guides, but I could be wrong. Any immediate pointers? No CEL, Runs great, yadda yadda yadda. Just a weird clicking that I notice.
Thanks!

Hi Tamaren,
Did you figure out what the issue was? I have just started having the exact same sound in my F-Type.
Thanks
