VNo question! The previous NSX was a vastly underrated automobile in my opinion - an everyday super-car in the words of Honda; and after owning two I can wholeheartedly concur - and I have no doubt, in spite of the many unfulfilled years of anticipating the new NSX and knowing what I know about Honda engineering, that it's gonna be quite special.

Along with a "special" (as in high) price. Ihoboy's probably got the mid-100's correct (although I'm not so sure he's got the anticipated sounds [about the NSX] right based on the quick video I think one of the F-Typers posted somewhere amongst these threads.

Don't get me wrong: I adore the sounds these F-Types make!!! It's got such a wide range of intoxicating noises

I find with the flat (and extreme) torque at any speed and the ability to brake heavily merely by modulating the throttle, I get a real sense of direct connection with the vehicle. I'm not saying that I prefer the electric direct drive over the MT, but I like it enough over an AT to consider purchasing, where I would never buy an AT.


The huge drawback, of course, is the lack of appropriate sound.

 

Sorry, I just don't get that. You can at least paddle shift today's state-of-the-art AT, with DCT-like speed, and no matter what you say, that is a far more involving driving experience than pressing on a single pedal. You are making the shift choices, up and down, and in order to be good, you still have to make the right choices of braking and gear to get through the apex in the shortest possible distance at the greatest speed.

And uh, that little sound issue IS a rather massive drawback.

 

I know, I wouldn't have believed it either unless I had vigorously tested the Lotus cloaked Tesla Roadster (can't speak for the S model). I just didn't miss the transmission. The hi-torque direct drive experience is a whole different kind of exhilaration. Give it a try sometime, you might like it.

I never really cared about cars until I moved to SoCal. Suddenly all of those poster cars were just driving around on the streets. It suddenly clicked that cars are rolling art and I got bit by the exotics. The SLK was the first that grabbed me and was reachable as a used car. The TT-RS won me over on the test drive. I really wanted a Lotus Evora at the time, but their future was up in the air so I went with Audi. Hell of a car but didn't excite me as much by the looks. I fell in love with the F-Type when the C-X16 debuted. Then the global reveal at the Howard Hughes hanger sealed the deal for me. I was privileged to be a guest there. The Coupe was going to be mine...oh yes...she would be mine.

I do not recall all my cars, but what drove me to the F-Type was the fact that my wife wanted a Range Rover and I ended up buying that thing and right next to it at the dealership, it was the crazy Jag.
