With all the financial troubles that JLR had to begin with, combined with the poor reception of the rebranding and the decision to go all-electric, it wouldn't surprise me if this is a tactic to steer blame for financial failure to the cyber attack vs internal management decisions.

Ł29 billion in revenue last year, yielding net profit of nearly Ł2.6 billion = "financial troubles"?

By "...this is a tactic..." are you seriously theorizing self-sabotage?

The "LR" part of JLR is highly profitable and had some record quarters recently, even outselling Audi in some markets (and strongest sales in India in 17 years). However, my post was referring only to Jaguar, and its viability as a brand going forward.

As Jaguar was phasing out production, the F-Pace was the only profitable model, and they've shut down production for domestic sales since then.
Even the Land Rover side may be slowing down this year, given tariffs in the US and declining demand in China.

I just booked my 3rd annual maintenance included with the warranty with my dealer and when I asked what services were included in that one the tech adviser said he couldn't tell me because he doesn't have computer access any more. The techs have to use a standalone PC with the services and bring a piece of paper to the parts department to go down the checklist and get all the necessary parts. They have it listed there and he would only get it when they print out the service order and bring it up to him when the car is done. Old school.

Actually, it wasn't referring only to Jaguar: "With all the financial troubles that JLR had to begin with..." Your words.

Well, just because an article chooses to paint both sides of the house with their dramatic brush doesn’t make it factual. It is well known that the LR side is not the problem, and that they are hugely profitable in relative terms.

Not unlike my insurance. My insurance rates on my F-type are jacked in part because Land Rover Range Rovers are getting stolen hand over fist in my province, and my car is getting painted with the JLR brush in that regard. Doesn’t matter that F-types being stolen are statistically insignificant. There is one brush because it is conveniently profitable.
