My 2017 V6 just turned 65,000 miles. I've had the oil analyzed every 20,000 miles or so to see how the engine is wearing. Some considerations:
- I switched to the JLR spec MOTUL oil
- I've had a fuel injector go bad causing a misfire and had to be drilled out when it broke in the head during removal
Based on the values and the notes from Blackstone, it looks like my engine is healthy!
I've been having analyses done annually, although one got lost in the Pandemic Era. My numbers are comparable to yours, though varying by the lower mileage on the oil these days. I'm doing far fewer annual miles, yet still doing annual maintenance. My last comment from Blackstone:
"Based on these results, your Jaguar won't be slowing down any time soon. Similar wear levels
after a similar interval goes a long way to show that internal parts are still getting along with ease. No
problems are evident in this data. There's no fuel, coolant, water, or dirt contamination to contend with, the
viscosity is in spec for 0W/20, and the 5.0 TBN is strong. Feel free to put another 2,000-3,000 miles on this
fill. Excellent!"
That's great news. The oil analysis doesn't lie. Despite the injector issue, your engine's internals are wearing well. The switch to MOTUL was a smart move. Keep up with your maintenance schedule, it's clearly working.
The OEM JLR Castrol Edge Professional was getting increasingly difficult to find; almost non existant which is why I changed to Motul. My oil change intervals range anywhere between about 5000-7500 miles.

Good to hear that our engines are wearing similarly. Same here; ever since I started driving company cars, the F-TYPE just sits on a CTEK charger until I take it out for a stint every couple of weeks.
Do you plan on putting a moly additive? In the Porsche world it's considered something an oil should contain in large amounts, and Motul oil seems to have very little of it.
Also, did you notice any change switching to Motul? I'll be doing an oil change in the coming weeks with Motul Specific 5122 0W20.

I noticed the moly content as well but figured as long as it meets the JLR specs then I'm good to go. Since switching to Motul, the engine seems to run marginally quieter.
