Default What is the real mileage of this car?

Hey guys, New to this forum.
I recently picked up my MY16 F type S AWD: Just picked up my brand new F type S awd! - Imgur

I have a quick question: What is the real milage of this car?

When I fill up at 100% I get 400 Kms (not miles I live in Canada) to the tank as the computer says.
I also haven't been able to figure out how to get to the milage display where it says how much mpg I'm doing. LOL

Thanks all!

Congrats on the car and welcome to the family/forum. Based on several discussions the mileage varies depending on several things. RW/AWD, regular/dynamic mode etc. We've seen long trips using cruise control as high as 30 mpg, but as low as 13 mpg driving the car in "fun" mode =). Also, I haven't checked myself, but some members have indicated that they track mileage and fuel consumption manually and is less (approximately 2 mpg) than what the Jaguar computer system says on the car. I know I didn't answer your question, but just giving a brief summary of what I've heard in discussion with other members of the family. Congrats on the car!!!

Everything you made makes sense, I can see the car being very economic on the highway but in the city when it makes such a noise I can't not just go up to 4 and shift LOL. Thank you, I'm happy to be apart of such an awesome community!

Agree the snap, crackle and pop doesn't increase our mileage, but sure is a lot of fun =).. You're welcome and glad you joined the community. I'm new to it as well, but everyone has been so nice and very understanding to all of my stupid questions. I learn something every single day from these wonderful people and appreciate everything they do as they take time out of their busy days to help/assist me and my new hobby. LOL..

The button on the end of the turn indicator stalk switches the display to different values, one of which is mpg. In the menu, you can select how the trip computer works. For day-to-day driving, I leave it on 'auto', so each time I start the car, it resets the trip values. For a longer trip, I may switch it out of auto, so I can have the mileage (and distance, average speed, etc.) for the whole trip.

The best that I've gotten from mine is around 22 MPG and the worst is around 17, both commuting stop and go. 22 is when traffic is good. 17 is when I take the back way home once a tankful and hammer it like it should. I suspect that when (if) summer comes to the Peoples Republik and I take the back way home 3 times a week, I'll be down to 13.

YMMV

Most of the time when driving it locally 18-20 mpg. Highway with cruise I've had 500 mile trips at 28-29. Your mileage may vary.

you will see that you end around 20 - 21 mpg on average so something around 11l/100km, average ....

The best I have seen is 9.6L/100km cruise-controlling 100km/h in an 80 zone. Typically, I get nowhere near that as I suffer from chronic case of lead food and vroom-vroom-itis.

I just tested today on a 80 km trip on the highway (both ways so no height difference total). Tried to drive as "gentle" as possible, average speed was 102 km/h (top 120km/h, low 70 km/h), used the cruise-control about 50% of the trip and the result was 8.5 l/100 km (on the display).

I have had my 2016 R coupe since November, 2015 and it hasn't moved from 11.5 or 11.6./100 km no matter how I'm driving. Maybe there is a problem with the gauge?

Reset the fuel mileage computer function by holding down the OK button. If you never reset it, it will show the average mileage of the car since 000000. If you have say 10K km on the car, it's rarely or maybe never going to change.

Your results are consistent with mine.. when I drive that easy.
Lawrence.

Thanks all!
Keep in mind that the car is set to display in metric, so you'll see 'L/100KMs' and not 'MPG', both both average and instant readouts.

If you or the dealer switches the car to non-metric display, the MPG will be in US gallons and not Imperial gallons.

Do I need to go into a 'sub-menu' or simply hold down the 'OK' button after the car starts? When I held down the 'OK' button, nothing happens (i.e. don't get any sort of confirmation that anything is reset).

I think that mine shows the average from reset which I do every time I fill up. It's done by using the button on the end of the stalk. When I reset the trip odometer it resets everything. Foosh, are you saying that there is someplace else as well?

Hey guys thanks for all of your responses and great input, I had no idea how to reset the values but now I do, LOL. I found out how to show the liters per 100km and it's at 19/100km >.<
Gonna reset it and give it another try to see how low I can get it to be!
thanks again guys!

You can go into the menu, and change the trip computer to 'auto', in which case it resets every time you start the car. I use that most of the time. If you want to measure mileage over a full tank, you'd turn 'auto' off (select 1 or 2 if memory serves), and reset it manually.

No, that's it on the end of the left-hand stalk in the F-Type. I was thinking of one of my other cars which is done by holding down the OK button on the steering wheel menu.
