I’m trying to identify the black cables/lines running along the underside of my Jaguar F-Type V6S 2015 UK RHD, shown in the attached photos. (Top picture is not mine)
One of the black cables/lines was slightly sagging down from its clip/route, and I’ve been getting a tapping/rattling noise at around 70 mph. It sounds almost like a wire or cable bouncing against the body or undertray, so I’m wondering if this could be the cause?
Thanks!
Those are likely the parking brake cables. They run along the underside to the rear calipers. Sagging happens when the rubber hangers or clips wear out. Zip tie it back up to stop the rattle.
Nup, not parking brakes. All F-Types have electrically operated parking brakes with a small electric motor on each rear brake caliper so no cables.
I'm going with IRRX152 that they are the active exhaust valve vacuum lines.
