Default Wind deflector install

My car didn't come with a deflector, but I'm definitely looking to get one to help when I have the top down. However, I need the brackets to be installed Has anyone done this themselves? If so, where did you get them from? I'm looking to get a clear deflector instead of a mesh so I can see better at night. Was really interested in this one here...

Thank you. I am eagerly awaiting the responses. My top is always down and I would like the baffle, but I don’t want another Jaguar label.

The deflector is part # T2R6106 for MY 2013 - 2018 F-Type verts and then part # T2R11321 for MY 2019 on.
However everywhere I look shows either the deflector by itself with no brackets or a pic of both the deflector and the two brackets but no separate part number(s) for the bracket(s).
I have a sneaking suspicion you can't buy the brackets by themselves and you have to buy the whole kit to get them.

Same here and that sounds like it's going to be pretty expensive I'll have to ask my dealer when I go in for a service

You have to get the entire kit. But the mesh screen works perfectly. No need for anything else. The chrome inserts come out easily. Just follow directions. The brackets screw in with two captured torx screws. That’s it. Close windows, drop top and you can do 75 with no cabin turbulence. The screen cut down night glare, reflection from the nameplate with virtually no loss in rear vision. A truly perfect product.

Agree that the OEM mesh screen works very well and does not interfere with the rear view mirror at night. And, yes, you have to buy the brackets and screen together; they come in one package with a soft case for the windscreen that you can store in the trunk and use if you remove the windscreen (which is easy to do). A great add to the vert.

Correct. Brackets are not included with the plexi options.

I lucked out that both of my cars came with the mesh kit installed. It is very hard if not impossible to see though at night, which is totally unacceptable while backing up, so I bought the plain plexiglass inserts. It buffets a bit until you press it into weather stripping along the bottom and along the sides, inside the brackets. Then its very snug. Tested to 160+.

Thanks for the high-speed test.

Our P.O. bent the top bar on our mesh screen, and that was bugging me. So we just ordered a plexi screen.

I need to install a wind deflector in my new F-Type convertible.
This part seems to come with the required brackets.

T2R11321

My questions is how to fit the brackets?
How do you remove the chrome inserts in the roll bar, then how do the brackets install?
I would appreciate some input from somebody who has done this, before I start fiddling..

"...impossible?" or is it impossible for us to see you?
360 degree vis is prerequisite. Granted the F Type models require critical "side view" confirmation....NEVER had the issue you subscribe to... I like the Leaper imprinted to one aftermarket option available but personally not into "bling". The F Type ,commands a second take much of the time AS IS. The joy of freedom....chocolate, vanilla or strawberry...pick a couple.

I went through the same search process because of concerns raised on this forum about visibility through the mesh deflector.
I concluded that the only way to get the install brackets was to purchase the entire JLR kit with mesh and brackets.
I figured I could always change the mesh out for the clear plexi if necessary.
Two years later the mesh is still fitted and I have no problem with visibility, day or night.
IMO the only downside to the JLR kit is the crazy $350 price.

I can confirm that the mesh deflector still works at 120MPH - with the windows up, not terribly windy. Or so I’ve heard…

A while back I installed a plexiglass deflector (from Amazon) to replace the mesh. Was a definite improvement from a visibility standpoint however the mesh wasn't that bad. The biggest drawback to the plexiglass unit is that it causes more turbulence and wind noise in the cockpit vs. the mesh. Another drawback is that you have to be very careful cleaning it because it scratches very easily. Finally when the sun hits the deflector at certain angles you can get very annoying reflections in rear view mirror. I am thinking about putting the mesh back in the spring.
