trust me you have to drive the car, whether you like it or not, ive seen the carnage
People have had summer-only vehicles since the dawn of man, particularly in countries like Canada and the like. My buddy has been doing so forever with his Aston Martin. No problems as long as you take a few precautions. Is it ideal? Probably not, but its certainly not destroying the vehicle.
I never lock my car when it is in the garage. I trust my wife!!
The longest it has been left unlocked between driving is about 4 weeks on the C-Tek.
The car goes into telematics "sleep" mode within about 36 hours.
The In-control app continues to show information from before but does not update unless the vehicle is started.
No problem with battery drain when left unlocked, with or without the C-Tek connected.
I seem to recall that if you park your Jag with the doors unlocked, the electrical system and onboard computer never really "shuts down". And therefore it is best to lock it if you are going to park it for longer than say overnight. Is that correct ?
I think the car goes to sleep anyway after a certain time, but locking it gives the car the hint you won't be using it so it shuts down a bit sooner. It'll go completely to sleep after 4 days anyway when it won't be remote startable by the app, though you can set a wakeup time if you know exactly when you want to use the car.

This is correct. Locking just makes it sleep faster. And if it's connected to a tender then it really doesn't matter.
Guys…. How can I take the battery of the car but still leave it locked? X351
The other things to do…. Tarp, oil, fuel, coolant are clear.
Outdoor storage. I will be leaving the country with short periods of returning(2-3 days a month perhaps).

Is the car like the f-type where you have a physical override key for still being able to open the door? Assuming it does I guess that’s the answer?
Assuming it does not, is it that you cannot just leave the car on a battery maintainer in the environment where you have the car stored and have it locked? Is that your problem?

The issue with removing the battery of an F-Type is that you can't get into the boot with a key! On previous Jags I've had (XK8, XKR) there is physical access to the boot via a key, unlike the F-Type, so maybe the OP's car has such a keyhole.
I got my 2024 about 3 days ago, I had fun these past 3 days but now it's going below 0 degrees so it time to put the car away until spring. What do I need to maintain this car in my garage?
1. Trickle charger. Which one do I get and any pics on how to connect it to the battery? I know it's the battery in the trunk but do I just close the trunk the trickle charge cord? Where do I connect it to?
2. Tire flat spots. How do I avoid these? I heard some people buy matts or foam to place under the wheel. Do you use these? If so what do I buy? Do you do something else to avoid this?
3. Anything else I'm missing? Do I have to move the car a few inches? Do I have to start it up once in a while, how often? etc.
- Thanks
Is Winter that bad where you live, does your F-Type have AWD? I just replaced the Summer tires with Continental All Seasons on my '24 AWD F-Type so I can drive it in the cold of Winter if needed. Prefer dry weather but I think I should OK if caught in a sudden snow storm which can happen where I live in north Virginia.

So…. My bad… wrong thread I guess. I have Xj x351.
Winters lately are not so bad, only couple of episodes of winter(Romania, eastern Europe).
But….. I don't t have a garage big enough for the Jag. And I have another car that I can drive in the winter. W211. So…. Was thinking about how can I close the Jag with the battery out of the car. And tarp on it. Hard sleep situation. Like I did last wi ter with the Mercedes. In that, I can close and open the boot by pfisical key. And driver door also. And I can lock it full with the battery out. No danger of stealing, battery going out…..
About winter tires. I have full winter tires. Last year I Tryed to go snowboarding. Half of hour on going up a 30' Road.….. Extremely difficult. Even in winter mode. This car is not a car for snow. Or bad roads. Its only a highway gt 4 door cruiser. By comparison, W211, esp off, on ice…. Full throttle till going up or out)))) automatic transmission also. I can't complain it slides sideways(Jag), but its a big and pretty heavy car. Al aluminium parts are expensive, regardless who's fault it is. And for some reason I don't like those cold starts on the Jag. Mercedes is a bit….. More cheap to fix))) and….. In Bucharest are I think only about 5 Xj. So….. Nothing really to compare it to. So I can get a feel of.… sound normal, all normal. And it acts different to W211 Mb. No benchmark!
At this moment, I have some stuff to do for what Mb w211 is better suited. More rugged, cheaper to repair, and I know the car better. It will do just fine. Jag asleep for the winter. Full tank of diesel. Oil one step down from full. Normal coolant. Flat surface. Cleaned and with ceramic coating. And a car tarp on it. If necessary or if really good whether (10’+) , perhaps a little spin outside. Luckily, parking is outdoor but private property. But not possible for a battery charger conected
If I didn't have a garage I'd look at an inflatable capsule for Winter storage . It's pricey but so is Jaguar, lol. It also has support for trickle chargers too.
Hello guys.
because on the Last start 5-7 days ago…. Tha Jag flickered the screen at start, I want to buy a battery powered starter. You know….. The kind that's on battery, and you charge it at the socket and then use it on the car battery to help with the first start.
So…. My questions are:
What type. How many voltage? Amps or what? The start robot…. Connected directly to the +&- of the battery or could be the same under the bonnet at the engine?
The car started last time without help but the screen flickers for 2 seconds. So…. I am not in the battery dead case. Just want to help it at start a bit so it doesn't struggle. I am thi king that a couple of amps or volts extra would be helpfull.
I don't know how ow exaclywhat matter, amps or volts, so.….. Please educate me also on this ideea. So I can search for a good starter robot.
Ps: its gonna be a bit cold next few days….-14 Celsius.…. Will start the car after that. But the cold might drain a bit more the battery.
This is the situation right now. Snow and snow )))
Maybe look at getting a NOCO jump starter.
I bought one a few years ago now and have used it three times so far on nephew's flat batteries and it worked a charm every time.
Engine fired up first crank each time on a dead flat battery.
One of the more basic and cheaper ones, this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/12262509729...3ABFBM8p_AtKNl
That's the 1000 amp version which should be OK for an F-Type (never needed it or tried it on mine though) or you can spend a bit more and get a more powerful version, plenty to choose from.
