Wrapping an F-Type

Unfortunately inexperienced installers will struggle with this hood. I would call the other shop in your area and ask how many F Types they have done.
Unfortunately if you take the improperly applied film off the hood, he still owes you CQuartz coating on that panel after whoever does the replacement.

Good point, but this installer typically applies cquartz over film. We'll see.
My Xpel installer is probably one of the most experienced in the country as he actually launched the product for Xpel. He had never worked on an F-Type and had some bubbling issues on the hood, but asked to keep the car an additional day to resolve the issue, which he did.

I picked up my BRG F-Type today from the installer. Other than a few specs that I spotted under the film, you can't even tell it's on there. Now I can drive without staying a half mile behind the car in front of me.
Congrats and have some fun without having to worry!!!
Mine (when it arrives) is booked in for a suntek instal
the installer has confirmed it will NOT cover the entire bonnet (hood) and will leave about 4" by the A pillar exposed which he will infill and has told me I will not see it - this will be sometime in July

I had a pretty good discussion with my installer about how it did it without seams near the A pillars. He said that instead of using the program template to precut the film, he used a bulk sheet, cut it himself, and stretched it. He also said that he had to remove and reinstall the hood vents. He said that it took him longer to do it this way (4 hours total), but he doesn't want the seams on the F-Type hood. I have to say that I agree as that probably would have bothered me. The bottom line is that it can be done. Finding an installer with such experience or willingness is another story. Perhaps I just go lucky.
Quite a few will do it the right way, as did mine. You just have to ask how they plan to do it and if they don't use a bulk roll on the hood, go elsewhere.
The dealer in Bellevue, WA has a new, wrapped F-Type for sale. I saw it yesterday.

I agree. But it would look so much better without the tinted tail lights and non black wheels.
The whole murdered out thing is so 1990s.

I think the wrap looks gorgeous. I'm not into the all murder out look, but I think that car does look good. The tail lights might be too much, but would have to see in person. I did my tails to break-up all the red, the red would break up all the black so I probably would change that. Overall, very nicely done.
