X152 '15 with '21 LED headlights
Hello folks,
I'm facing a problem that I hope the swarm intelligence of this forum can help me with.
A friend converted the front of a 2015 F-Type to 2021 . So the front bumper, the hood, the fenders and of course the headlights. The simple LED headlights are now installed.
I got the low beam, high beam and turn signals to work. It's not the prettiest solution because I implemented it with resistors.
Where I'm hanging now is the parking lights and the daytime running lights, which are controlled via the LIN bus. I clamped the yellow cable from the round plug (PIN 13) to the LIN bus cable from the LED headlights (PIN 1), hoping that it would work. I also tried different settings in the CCF but nothing seem to work. (Hence the resistance, so that something works at all).
Can someone help me with where I can find the LIN bus and what settings need to be made in the CCF to make it work? It would also be great if I could leave out the resistors. An older post in this forum said it would work.
I've tried the following settings in the CCF:
Headlights Type 0x03 1 14 00:007 (from gas-discharge to unknown)

Hi Folks,
is there no one who can help me? That makes me sad.
My latest finding is, that pin 13 on the old xenon headlight connector is the LIN bus for headlight range control.
But nothing is going on, not even if I set the parking lights or daytime running lights to LIN controlled in the CCF.
On my oscilloscope there is only a clean DC voltage.
Is there another place in the car where I can connect the LIN bus for the headlights?
Or someone who can help with the settings in the CCF editor ?

This network diagram shows a dedicated LIN bus from the Headlight Leveling Control Module to the Headlights.

Otherwise, the schematics show the headlights, DRL etc are controlled directly from the CJB. No LIN control.

Hi DJS,
big thx for the manuals.
You are right, in the original xenon lamps the DRL are directly controlled. But now, the car has the headlamps from 2021, the flat full LED headlights
and in the schematics from this year/car aren't connections therefor. That's my problem for now.
Do you have the workshop manual for the 2021 model too ?

Hello everyone,
I wanted to get in touch again. I wasn't dying of the headlights but a few weeks of illness and other things got in the way.
As for the current status:
I've tried all the LIN buses that the BCM had to offer; plus various CCF settings but what can I say: Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that.
The headlights just can't be persuaded to work together properly. It's stuck with low/high beam and indicator lights.
An interesting side note: If you don't connect the headlights to each other via the separate CAN lines, only one LED works on the right headlight;
the outer one. I thought the headlight was broken - lucky me.
My friend is trying to find a Jaguar where I can record the bus. But that might take a while.
So far...
