What security have you for your F-type, I have one of them RFID Car Key Signal Blocker pouches, although the car is locked in an alarmed garage at night, but outside in daytime,, night or day, anywhere they can strike, with thieves now able to use fob readers its becoming more common, seems Tesla and Mercedes are the only two companies who have addressed the problem on new models, we spend a lot on our cars and sometimes then on modification but forget security, what do you do to secure your cat, trackers etc. Anyone with a good phone tracker fitted

My car is garaged at home. I do keep all of our keys in a RFID Signal Blocking Box at home. When I'm out and about, that's my insurance's job.

My dealer installs LoJack in every single car they sell. After 5 years, I still haven’t found where they put it.

With a stick, your car is safe in America. You can leave keys in the car and it running and nobody would be able to steal it.

Personally, I use RF blocking pouches for my keys. There are few ways to steal such car - a) boost key signal from a key sitting inside your house b) replay signal c) clone the key. a) is easy, b) JLR thought of that and fob has basic protection in place c) technically difficult (or needs access to crooked dealership).
So if you make a) difficult to impossible, and RF blocking does just that, you made your car too difficult to steal. They will move on to the easier target.

yeah...not much call for stolen F-Type parts. Originally Posted by uncheel

Has anyone considered VIN etching their windows? I was contemplating doing mine with a DIY kit for $20. I have done prior cars with good results.

My car is locked in the garage with the keys in the house.
My safest car is my 31 Chevy. It's in the garage in front of the spouse unit's AMG so a thief would have to move that first. Then figure out how to start the 31. It has a manual choke, manual fast idle throttle, starter button on the floor and a 3 spd manual. I leave the keys in it.

A friend of mine secured his Harley that way. Worked just fine until he saw they had dragged the bike up over the top of his Mercedes coupe.Originally Posted by Dogbreath!

My insurance offers discount for VIN etching. If what I save is more than what it costs to be done, then sure. However, I don't see VIN etching as a deterrent. Car thieves take less than 60 seconds to steal your car. They are not using that time to look at the windows for the VIN. And honestly, once they have it, I don't want it back.Originally Posted by cpq100
