1992 4.0l xjs
You posted a few weeks ago so maybe you have it sorted alredy, but...
The crankshaft position sensor is in the front of, or just in front of, the block on the bottom by the crank dampener and pulley. It is the only sensor in that area, so easy to identify / locate. The 6cyl I'm not 100%, but on my 94 xj v12 the cps is on a bracket between the block and the pulley on the bottom, and also has a crankshaft / engine speed sensor mounted in the bottom of the trans bell housing that reads the flywheel.
