Default Auto diming mirror repair - Heads-Up

Just a blurb about getting mirrors repaired when the electroluminescent part goes bad and they get a permanent dark tint over some or all of their surface.

Trying to find a good used one on eBay is impossible at anything resembling a fair price so I emailed Sybesmas's Electronics in Mich. The buy the correct type of mirror glass in sheets and then cut them to fit a variety of these auto diming mirrors. They don't test the electronics as they aren't equipped for that, but they do take the mirror apart, cut new glass and install, and then put it all back together. They do an excellent job believe me.

I just got back two such mirrors, one auto diming and one with the additional rain sensing microphone. The cost to do both mirror plus the shipping back to me was $172.00 as opposed to their normal rate of $97.00 each.

Default Update...auto dimming rearview mirror works

Just an update to say that the inside auto diming rearview mirror that I has repaired by Sybesmas Electronics works without a hitch. I reinstalled it this afternoon and tested it out and it responded to both a flashlight held near the rearview sensor and dimmed itself quickly and without hesitation. Worth the cost of repair.

Put them on your list for future reference as these mirrors are super expensive even on eBay.
