Bearing replacement XK8
Hi all,
Just getting ready to press in a new front wheel bearing for my XK8. I've heard about the trick of cooling the bearing in a freezer for a few hours to assist, but is there any advantage in adding a thin coating of oil or Moly grease to the inside of the Hub beforehand? Kind of thinking any lubricant might be pushed out under extreme pressure.
Thanks, Andrew.

I always clean and lightly lube the surfaces on press fit bearings like that, if it actually helps, I don't know, but it makes me feel better about it.
The grease can't hurt, it's mostly going to get squeezed out anyway. The interference fit of the metal will still hold it. I just don't want any chance for it to bind or get cocked at an angle while pressing and cause damage.
