can i drive my 2003 xj without the security control module
I'm taking it out to bring to an electronics shop to have a burnt chip replaced as described in other threads- can i drive the car with the scm ut?

This has had 23 views to date and no replies. Maybe they aren't as inquisitive as me! 
When I unplug the SCM on my XK8, starting is inhibited. Ignition goes on but that's it.
Did you find the same on your XJ8?
